Might be changing my mind

I have thought about what a lot of the people in this forum have been saying. I was the guy who was going to put the decal on my car.

Anyway, I took a pic of the car. Got a pic of the spoiler I want and did some so-so photo shopping to it. I managed to get the thing to some-what go with my car. So gimmi yall opinion.

I am thinking I am going to wait on the decal for a bit. I want to get a few other 'visual' modifications first (ie clear tails, maybe body kit, underbody lights, ect).

I still dont plan to really do any performance mods other than maybe one day getting the header. Below is a crappy virtual image of my car with the decal. Obviously wouldnt look quite like this but ya know.

a96710 10-22-2002 03:58 PM

Just my opinion...but the decal makes it kinda look like a Hot Wheel. It is just my opinion and it's your car...

slowEJ6 10-22-2002 03:59 PM

wow.....i dont think you want my opinion :D

civic3x98 10-22-2002 04:02 PM

HAHAAH!!!

I used to love those things. I have a Red Civic Si matchbox car.

Its hard to photo shop a decal (from my limited experience).

Do you like the spoiler?

ditto.

civic3x98 10-22-2002 04:13 PM

Ok keep in mind what I am changing my mind about. I am NOT getting the decal. Its just a picture to show you what i could have looked like. I am getting the decal.

slowEJ6 10-22-2002 04:45 PM

i hate the wing with a passion....its way too big.

civic3x98 10-22-2002 04:52 PM

Do you mean in real life, or in my photo?

So which is it? :D

slowEJ6 10-22-2002 04:58 PM

i mean in real life.....double decker aluminum wings that are almost as big as a civic - dont really do it for me.

civic3x98 10-22-2002 05:02 PM

I am NOT getting the decal, right now. Well the image wasnt necessarily for the double decker spoiler. I havent decided which one I want yet. The idea of the image is to give you an idea of what it would look like in general on the car.

4jacks 10-22-2002 05:13 PM

Lower the car and get ground effect before you do the stickers... and say no to the wing

a96710 10-22-2002 05:40 PM

I would also agree on the wing....not a big fan of aluminum wings

civic3x98 10-22-2002 06:02 PM

I do plan on the body kit. But I do like the wing so that is a definite yes. Dunno about lower it. Wouldnt lowering it & the body kit make for some harder driving onto elevated areas?

ShagginJet 10-22-2002 07:47 PM

If you can tell me what the point of getting the wing would be then maybe i could give you my opinion.

Rob 10-22-2002 07:52 PM

wing + decal = :pukey :ricer:

slowEJ6 10-22-2002 08:26 PM

yes a lot of us think the wing is ugly.....but YOU like it and thats what matters.
there can be no point in the wing y0, its a street civic.

pdiggitydogg 10-22-2002 08:30 PM

why was this same pic in another post?? now my my witty comment on it goes to waste and no one sees it...;( ;(
OK now everyone go to the post he did last time about the decal and look at my response there. Anyone doing it?? No? ...didnt think so...:o

civic3x98 10-22-2002 09:02 PM

I just think they look pretty cool. I have need them on some cars. At first I didnt care for them.. then they kinda grew on me.

pdiggitydogg 10-22-2002 09:59 PM

to hell with it...I'll quote myself!

I dont know man...wait I do...thats poo too. Sorry but if youre not doing a turismo circuit...please dont put a park bench on your car.

ChrisCantSkate 10-23-2002 04:18 PM

your REALLY dont want my opinion. i am 100% against that style show.

my opinion. wingless lowered on tien coilovers a spoon lip, some nice looking clean side skirts and rear.. maybe wings west RS serise, a b18c1 turbo'd, some black bride racing seats carbon fiber hood 99-00 stock tail lights, 16' bronze te-37's

Addict 10-23-2002 04:43 PM

Damn man. That looks hideous.:pukey

Here's my suggestion.

If you like show, save up and get a nice body kit. A Civic with a huge ass wing and no kit looks ridiculous.

2000Pimpinex 10-23-2002 05:07 PM

I don't know... I personally don't like the wing but what does my opinion matter. It don't cause its going on your car and if you like it then great. Good luck in whatever you choose.

to go off Mr. Addicts prime illistrastion... Yes... you need Large chrome rims and a body kit.. before it's OK to do something gaudy like a HUGE wing, and or decals...

Ok...I'm gonna give ya my opinion...DO WHAT YOU WANT. This truely is NOT the place to get advice cuz most of us here are all about clean lookin cars and are more into engine type mods than style mods. If you like it get it. But I do agree with one step. If you get the aluminum wing (which no i'm not a fan of) get a nice lookin body kit first. If you get the wing before the kit it's sorta like gettin a kit before you get wheels (and yes i've seen this and yes it does look horrible).

civic3x98 10-24-2002 04:13 PM

Point taken and agreed with :)

Girls are so smart heheh :-p

Yes, lowering the car and putting on a ground effect kit does make it harder to drive in some places, but I will be the first to tell you that people are gonna laugh at you if you don't lower the car and you do all that other work to it. In my opinion, and it's just my opinion, rims and lowering the car should be the first thing that you do to it. Let us know what happens bro.

civic3x98 10-24-2002 07:49 PM

Well I do have a set of 2.3" Progressive Lowering Springs that I got from a friend (slightly used). [This topic is in another thread ->
http://www.hondastyle.com/forums/sho...9444#post89444 ] . Check it out

bent_remy 10-24-2002 07:59 PM

Slam the car. Thats what needs to be done. Shave the moldings and throw on a nice kit. The wind really serves no purpose if the car is 10 feet off the ground.

Lowering the car is a good idea, but how far you lower it is what people need to think about. There is a lot out there that will take out your freshly new painted front bumper, and just because "slamming" the car might look better, it doesn't mean that it is better in a long run.

civic3x98 10-24-2002 08:34 PM

im thinking in a month, get a 1.3 - 1.5" drop. That would look pretty good. Then get the mula for the kit, ( i am liking the black widow 1st generation and the street fighter rear).

bx_integra 10-25-2002 08:54 PM

yea...lower the civic...and get a nice body kit on there...im not feeling the spoiler...lol...but then again i dont like any aluminum spoilers...juss not my style...lol;)

TeriyakiBroccoli 10-26-2002 06:22 PM

isnt the purpose of a spoiler to put downforce onto the rear wheels... ? then.. why have it if a civic is fwd?

i suppose if you put the spoiler on the hood, it'd serve soem practical purpse! :D

bx_integra 10-26-2002 07:01 PM

^ good one...lol

pdiggitydogg 10-26-2002 10:54 PM

hey thats why that mustang in the Shifting Gears section has a front mount...but thats a rear wheel...well so its pointless too then...hmmm...

Please lets not get another spoiler debate going on...... I thinks there's been about ten of these already. FWD can make use of them too, but I'm not about to debate this topic again.
