Accord V.S. PRELUDE

wow....this was the craziest race ive had so far.....i dont know if the thing was a H22 or not...but obviously not since I WON by half a door lenght...from a complete stop....we stopped just at the light for enough time to rev it up and let her rip lol....it wasnt the older gen. prelude..more closer to 4thgenlude's car..all i knew it had was an exhaust....the guy said it was stock under the hood......anyone think they would know the engine in this thing...if it was the H22...i would get raped..im still confused on this one...unless hes a terrible driver....but anyway it went to about 130-140 kph...then i shut it down...thumbs up and turned around to go home....

94_AcCoRd_EX 10-16-2002 02:48 AM

Nice kill.

The prelude S has an Accord lx motor in it, with 135hp I believe
The Si has 160hp.

ShEaNy 10-16-2002 09:01 AM

ahh maybe it was that lx motor then..modified..cause i think i woulda won by a bit more if he only had an exhaust....or maybe he did have the Si motor stock....hard to say...oh well.. i won!;) ;)

ChrisCantSkate 10-16-2002 11:18 AM

the Si motor stock will run a 15.7ish so thats GSR area. probobly a S. good kill though, i had a S and i took down accords

ShEaNy 10-16-2002 01:34 PM

meh well it was CLOSe the whole way..i took em after i went into 4th..

juvenile 10-16-2002 05:07 PM

Damn that's a big difference between the higher and lower end ludes!

Honda530 10-16-2002 06:59 PM

What about the S2000? That's not sweet.
I must agree the ludes are still amazing cars, but so is the S2K!

monkut 10-17-2002 04:34 PM

yeah i raced this prelude in my accord once, also a 4th gen, i won by about half a car length. he had the same engine in his car as i did in mine. f22b1. which is about 135hp and 145 tq....depending on where you get your info. plus preludes are generally a couple hundred pounds heavier than accords, but maybe thats only the h22'ed ludes. i have a 94 accord, by the way

ShEaNy 10-17-2002 11:22 PM

i thought accords are slightly heavier? i guess it depends what year and such... and i read somewhere my car (EXR)(top model of that year)(i think lol) has 140 horse stock..or 145 or something....meh u cant trust some of these sites..

monkut 10-21-2002 07:50 PM

yeah, ive found so many contradictions as far as engine codes go. some are false and sometimes you get the same engine in different cars producing slighty (5hp or so) more or less power. so yeah, its confusing.
i know my 94, the 5th gens, are lighter than the 5th gen (square lights 97-01) and im 80% sure they are also lighter than the 4th gens (92-96). the difference is only like 100-150lbs though.

HONDASPORT02 10-27-2002 10:05 PM

I have a 4th gen accord also (93 2dr coupe), I looked it up and they have about 140hp stock.

juvenile 10-27-2002 10:38 PM

The EX-R has 160hp I believe.

ShEaNy 10-27-2002 10:40 PM

wow....i heard 145 - 150....does anyone know a GOOD site that will tell the real answer?

ShEaNy 10-27-2002 10:51 PM

ChrisCantSkate 10-27-2002 11:17 PM

get your engine code, i have a engine guide, it looks like the USDM 91 ex is 140hp and since the US never got ex-r's and they all came from canada, im guessing its like the SI-SIR thing they did with the civics

ebpda9 10-28-2002 12:05 AM

he should have a f22a4 (us ex for 90-91) which is the same engine as the 4th gen lude has 135 hp

ChrisCantSkate 10-28-2002 08:28 AM

90-91 accord f22a4 = 130hp@5200 142lb/ft@4000
91-93 accord f22a6 = 140hp@5600 142lb/ft@4500
92-96 prelude S h22a1 = 135hp@5200 142@lb/ft4000

all engines are 2156cc's and 8.8:1 compression

Grip72 10-28-2002 08:48 AM
