Run Times

I am just curious of what ur guys cars ran stock. i am goin to be running mine this weekend for the first time just to see what it runs stock and compare it to what it runs with mods....so i was just curious of what i should be expecting...i know it shouldnt be more than 18's I am hoping for low 17's high 16's I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX..anyone give me some feedback?

DsBlu01CivEX 10-15-2002 08:31 PM

NO clue...I've never ran mine, cuz I'd feel that I'd have to run against someone and I don't like loosing...so I'd have to run like a 5 yr old on a tricycle to win. I'm assuming that your EX has the same hp as mine...so it's not that quick. But I think times can be way different depending on who's driving.

1stCvcVtchBaby02 10-15-2002 08:43 PM

ah hmm well do u think it will run anywhere near 16's im not out to win yet im just out to see what it can do before I add mods to WIN!! :D

DsBlu01CivEX 10-15-2002 08:46 PM

not sure....damn it now I wanna go out and find out.....grrr

juvenile 10-15-2002 09:19 PM

I believe that's our Si with 127hp
You might get high high 16's....might.
All depeding on your shifts.
What gas do you put in the car too btw?

DsBlu01CivEX 10-15-2002 09:21 PM

cant put anything above 90 in the tank....she won't start then...

Are you serious? Why the heck is that?
What's your recommended gas level?
I know on my Chrysler it was 89 and on the Mazda it's 92.
I now fill up at 91-94 octane!

DsBlu01CivEX 10-15-2002 09:32 PM

recommended not above 90...so I put 89 in....the girl i work with put 92 in her bf's car and she couldnt figure out why it wouldnt start....she was used to driving a mustang GT that took 92 or better gas.....her bf and I both yelled at her.....

1stCvcVtchBaby02 10-15-2002 11:40 PM

Well, see urs is an SI mines not. I wanted a SI but they are rare in vegas. i just have the vtec motor thats it. and i only put 87 octane in my gas tank. i really dont think putting 89 would make a difference. but im thinking maybe 17's stock in mine but I will try to find out this weekend.

ChrisCantSkate 10-16-2002 12:08 AM

yeah, a car that dosnt require premium wont benifit from using it. premium gas burns hotter and faster. you get better gas milage with low octane if your engine dosnt need premium

mt.biker 10-16-2002 07:11 AM

16.1 1/4
8s 0-60

but thats for my beast
I dont think you'll touch 16s with your civic ex

dimtry its all about the compression ratio, 90+ burns differently and thats why your motor sounds like shit when you fill up with the cheap shit. BEcause the pistons aren't firing correctly!!!!

1stCvcVtchBaby02 10-16-2002 11:28 AM

well, thanks for the input...

juvenile 10-16-2002 05:10 PM

Btw, I wish I had an Si, I drive a Mazda 626 that requires 92!
And Rob, why do you think I put 94 in?

to add to that, the higher octane rating burns longer and more controlled. low grade such as 87 will burn in one burst, where as a 93 octane will burn more evenly through the compression stroke(my 10th grade chem teacher told me this 3 years ago) the rating is the puratiy of the gas though. its ppt(parts per thousand) i think, it should say on the rating thing at the pump.

ok well, I ran my car last weekend at our Drag Strip and my best time so far was a 17.5 because i was told to shift at certain RPMS and found out I can shift higher plus it was my first time on the track so I will get up there into the 16's....and after mods hopefully 15's and 14's!!!! ;)

Also what is the baby sitters club!!?

not to disappoint you but your car stock will only ever run 16.7s 1/4 Mile. feel free to check out www.car-stats.com

I also attached your performance graph

your car will do:
8.4 0=60mph
16.7 1/4mile
with a manual tranny a profesional drive.
best of luck, get a turbo if you want to see 14's

juvenile 10-23-2002 10:23 PM

I think she ment with mods....I hope so at least :o

DsBlu01CivEX 10-24-2002 03:47 PM

I know what the babysitter's club is about...but I don't know that I'm permitted to disclose that information for fear of death. I'd suggest PMing your favorite person that has it in their sig.

i found my car on car-stats for the hell of it

it SAYS:
1/4 mile 15.2@93
0-60 6.7

it should be
15.0@93
and 6.5 seconds

mt.biker 10-28-2002 09:31 AM

remember these times are from factory cars, most likely they haven't been broken in yet.
