Ok guys Id like some serious responses here please... anyways, my GF and I have been going out a lil over a year now and we are both still virgins... well weve talked about that for a while and decided to have sex... and yes, condoms will be used... anyways, my question is: My stepdad gave me some condoms a few months back, but on them it says "EXP090198"...guessing this means they are expired... for some reason I don't feel comfortable going and buying condoms... ok heres the real question: Are these condoms still good to use? Surely the latex will still hold- im thinking it just means the spermicide is expired... any help would be greatly appreciated, as tonight is looking to be the night (parents outta town)... thanks:crazy:

Get past it and bu news ones. 2 months down the road when you gf is pregnant you will have wished you did.

i agree!!!! suck it up and get ones that u can rely on. if its ur first time having sex, ur already gonna be a little nervous/anxious. so u dont wanna have to worry about little things like is this condom still ok to use. just do it buddy! people do it everyday...trust me there will be no big read alarm that goes off announcing that ur buying them...lol....youll be fine!!

ok personal experience here........ never ever use anything that is expired! a few years ago i had bought some lotions and forgot about them, well one day i found them and decided i would use them that night with me and my bf. well he had a condom on and to make a long story short i ended up with 2nd degree chemical burns from teh expired lotions! let me tell you that is something i always check now!you have never experienced pain liek that i gurantee! he was very lucky he didnt get any burns because he had a condom on.

oh and yes the latex will break down over time.

my other thought is this.......if you cant openly talk about sex and go buy condoms do you really think your mature enough for making love?

dude if you can't go and show your face in public and buy some condoms then your not ready to have sex. If you really feel that uncomfortable with the topic, it might be your little voice of reason saying to you "dude, we really aren't ready for this"

Nah Im ready for it... is it really that odd to be cautious about something you have never done before? I certainly think not. Anyway, yeah I just forgot about it and went and got some and it was no big deal... :D :D These sorts of discussions are always funny I think. See, that whole thing about, if you're embarrassed to buy condoms, you shouldn't be doin what you're planning...is right in lots of occasions. BUT, in a small town, that's not always what it is.
See, where I used to live before I moved out was a town like that. There wasn't 1 time when I went to wal-mart and didn't have someone stop me and go "Hey, are you Bryan's little girl?" :D
I didn't even know most of these people, but naturally, they end up behind you in line and if they know your parents and you're buying something like, it's gonna get back around & then there'll be hell to pay. :yes:

Some parents are REALLY strict and wouldn't want you to have sex at all. What parent would want their kid having sex?

It's not that I mind my parents knowing I am having sex, thats no big deal. My parents are cool like that, and her mom offered to put her on the pill (which she now takes). That and the fact that we've been going out quite a while makes it all obvious to our parents. The only reason I asked was to get some support to convince me to go buy the dang things, excuse me for being a little nervous about something I had never done before. All I wanted was a little support, and all I got was people flaming me telling me Im not mature... gee thanks guys:rolleyes:

In my personal opinion, I don't think any good parent's gonna be like awwww....my baby's havin sex. I'm 21 years old and there's just some things you shouldn't discuss with your parents.

Heh yeah I got some trojans last night... no way I'd go with anything other than the best... its just not worth the $0.50 you might save getting a cheapo... and my parents arent like "awww"... thatd be a bit creepy if they were:eek:... but at the same time they know I will make good decisions, and basically since I dont drink or do drugs they are happy with me as long as my grades stay up... I dont talk to them about sex but they dont discourage it either... and to those of you who said we shouldnt have sex without our parents knowing... well the reason I waited for parents to go outta town wasnt so they wouldnt know, it was so we could have the whole house to ourselves. Its just a whole lot nicer and more comfortable being in your own bed knowing nobody else is going to be in the house for the next 16 or so hours...

I really don't think sex without condoms is soo much better than with condoms... my wifes on depo and we don't use them anymore, Though i still have some, maybe we should use them before they expire.
