hmm it still doesnt look like it to me....

ChrisCantSkate 09-27-2002 12:18 PM

its cause its an optical illiusion... if it looked right.. then it would jsut be a cool picture. cover EVERYTHING up but a bit of each box, if you can see any of it then your eyes are gonna play a trick on you. if you have photoshop download the image and test the colors

ChrisCantSkate 09-27-2002 12:23 PM

ebpda9 09-27-2002 12:28 PM

Interesting tidbits of info:

On my laptop, when I look at the screen normally the illusion works. However if I look at the screen from an extreme angle, such as placing my head above the top of the screen so I see it at a ~150 degree angle rather than the usual 90 degree perpendicular view, then the squares match in color. :)

in photoshop or even MS paint, use the ye dropper to get the color of each, u will notice it's the same color....or just cut a piece of the square out and move it near the other u'll see it's the same

That's because your brain interprets it differently and is able to see that.
It's an illusion played on our brain!

rakugaki 09-28-2002 01:37 PM

its a paradigm! our brain wants us to believe that its not the same color because of the color pattern, but the shadow of the cylinder changes the shade on square B, making square A the same color as B... as a conclusion, we need to think "outside" the box
