my antifreeze looks like cappuchino
i just got my swap a couple of weeks ago and today and i saw was chaniging my damn antifreeze and my antifreeze looked like cappuchino, what can be causing that?
do a complete flush of the system and put new antifreeze in it. run it and check it. probably just crap in the swapped in engine.

yeah...what he said.... |
use honda antifreeze, nothing else.
of course nothing but the best
oh, one more thing, my engine is running a wee bit hotter about 1/8th hotter on the gauge. other than my antifrezzze what else canb be the problem? oh and should i go 50/50 on antifrezze and water or more antifrezee than whater?
a bit more antifreeze....i think its a 70/30 mix for hondas...more AF than water. but dont quote me on that, ill check in the morning.
the container says 50/50
all hondas are 50/50. remember: too much antifreeze = high boiling point and your engine overheats, too much water = low boiling point(easily frozen = cracked engine = you be screwed)
like they said probly just some gunk in the new engine, but if not then sounds like a blown head gasket. just happend to me yesterday. sucks ass.
How much AF you use really depends on your climate. In the summer time, I run pretty much straight water. And in the winter 50/50 mix. Just flush it out really really good and put new stuff in and see what happens.
I don't risk it. Here in the midwest tempretures are weird. One day it can be summer weather, and the next it could get butt cold. I wouldn't want to run striaght water and then have it freeze. 50/50 all the time and no worries.

Like I said...it depends on your climate. I my area 9 months out of the year the temperature doesn't reach the 40's. 50/50 all the time and you won't have any worries, just hotter engine temps when you are sitting in 100 degree heat. Although, I swap engines like ppl change their underware so...that might have something to do with it... |
