and sometimes you'll see a -G (ie: SI-G)

its simply to specify that the cars has A/C..

Whoa, that's a new one to me. That's only in Canada, right?

Accord Man 09-20-2002 01:16 PM

nope.. Every Christmas, while I'm in Cali.. I see these in the Bay Area classfieds.

I know it was freaky for me to when I noticed this for the first time.. I was like, I've been in this Import thing for so many years, and I somehow missed that..

Oh well, who cares..

94_AcCoRd_EX 09-20-2002 01:20 PM

That's cool, I'll have to keep an eye out for one.

ebpda9 09-20-2002 01:35 PM

i never seen one trim level with G

Accord Man 09-20-2002 01:55 PM

the only places where you can commonly see these are in the classfieds..

juvenile 09-20-2002 02:54 PM

I see them sometimes on the streets
didn't know about the a/c
why honda civics don't usually have a/c??

TonitrusEN 09-20-2002 03:16 PM

Hatchbacks is as follows :)

VX- Power Nothing.. No Passenger Side Mirror!
CX- Power Nothing
DX- Power Steering
SI- Power Everything :) Sunroof and then of course the D16Y8 or whatever they come with from 92-95 :)

Thats true for 92-95 hatches i know for sure :)

Jason - Your local hatchback expert (humor me)

mylittlecivic 09-20-2002 05:30 PM

lol It's embarrasing to me that I have a dx but I can change about everything on it so I dont mind, I have a/c no power windows or locks, I dont have power steering either but I use it to my advantage I love how It handles at fast speeds and the only time it really bugs me is when im in a parking lot trying to park:mad: I got muscles in my arms now lol

VR4_Craver 09-20-2002 07:15 PM

DX: No bells and whistels.. (No power anything)
LX: Semi luxurius most bells and whisteles (power everything)
EX: Second to the top All the good things (All power engine has higher out put VTEC)
HX: The "God" among hondas (Everything power higher out put VTEC engine)

Quist 09-20-2002 08:04 PM

ummmm are you sure about HX being higher out put, I swear that it was one below EX, something about custom options????

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't say anything in case I was wrong. :o

The HX has a better engine than the VX though, right?

Accord Man 09-20-2002 10:11 PM

yup..

if my memory is right..

in 5th gens..
cx1.5 around 82
vx1.5 92
dx1.5 102
si1.6 126 hp

in the 6th gens,

hx was betwee cx-dx and ex
so around 1.6 with 115hp

in 7th gens, for hx..
same as 6th gen.. except with a 1.7.

the numbers may not be exact, but they should real close.

94_AcCoRd_EX 09-20-2002 10:15 PM

Thanks for the clarification JP

ChrisCantSkate 09-20-2002 10:57 PM

slowEJ6 09-21-2002 10:32 AM

Jason - a hatchback expert and you dunno what engine came in the 5g Si? :D

anyways. the 5g CX doesnt have a passenger side mirror either.
blah blah, if you want to know IM me sometime, i can tell you all the differences and the motors if you really want to know. from 88-00.
im too lazy to post, but you can post the convo afterwards if youd like.

ohiochica 09-21-2002 02:46 PM

as for civics......i have a dx and it has power doors, and most everything except it doesnt have power windows.

TonitrusEN 09-23-2002 12:33 PM

Why would i care about a SOHC engine in a car i dont have? :)

I have a DX.. its slow as hell, the only engines that matter are the good ones hehehe

:P

AzCivic 09-24-2002 03:11 AM
