Slow Window Problem Solution MESSED UP MY WINDOWS !
I recently had slowly moving windows on my accord and tried to solve that solution by spraying on Pyroil silicone lubricant along the guides of the window to speed it up... That didnt work, and now it has left me with nasty residue that comes up on the window everytime i roll it up and down...
I can't even open and close my windows without them getting all nasty looking from the exisiting silicone lubricant on the window guides. How do I remove this silicone lubricant in that hard to reach area ?? and what should i use to clean it with ?? |
I would just take the whole thing appart and clean it up..
I dont see any other solution. |
how long does it take to take apart the damn door...
|
it would take me around 5 mins.. If you'Ve never done anything like this.. it may take you a little longer..
remove all screws, clips, knobs, handle, switch and pull out the panel. |
well the rubber in those window tracks are crappy as hell. i really tried fixing them, and making them last longer but it will be better getting new ones. all the time my window jumps off the track, and closes on the outside of the door. also a cause will be the lift mechanism which is a common problem in 4th gen accords. some rod gets bent and leaves some play to the window thus destroying the track too. i think you are looking at $70 to get it fixed.
