your next car's gonna be...

lets be realistic yall...

i'll be financing a z06 or an e46 M3.

and a gixxer 1000

94_AcCoRd_EX 08-28-2002 02:35 AM

Realistically, I'd like to keep my car for a couple/few more years and then possibly finance a 3 series BMW or something like that. If I come across more money than I'm expecting to... well then I'll have something nicer.

ebpda9 08-28-2002 06:42 AM

that's a touffy. i would go honda, but if they continue the current trends i'll have to look into something else

Kyle 08-28-2002 08:15 AM

I'll be stuck with this dying civic for a couple more years...

Racing Rice 08-28-2002 08:24 AM

I cant decide!!!;(

Ive been trying but I cant decide what I want.. Im torn between some kind of SUV or a sporty car. Just depends on what the money situation and my mood is like when its time to buy one. :o

PoleMan14 08-28-2002 01:29 PM

Teggy Type-R in 4 years :)

Well being realistic, I doubt I buy another car for a long time. Just don't have the funds to support the vehicles I want.:o

it's really not that hard. you have a nice platform to start with...sell it for a down payment and for about 300-400 dollars a month you'll probably be in a wrx.:)

ChrisCantSkate 08-28-2002 07:27 PM

........240.......sr20det.......

Accord Man 08-28-2002 07:37 PM

I was gonna get a honda CBR954RR.. But seeing that I'm constantly wanting to test the limits, this wouldnt be a wise choice..

So I'll probably be sticking with a WRX.. And if possible, do whats necessary to run a few more pounds of boost.

.

a friend of mine and his gf died in a bike accidend just a few weeks ago, ironically it was a 954rr. he too was testing the limits, it was said they were doing 150mph in a 50zone. stupid no doubt but nonetheless, it's a wake up call for all those out there who want 10sec bikes for their first....

r.i.p mark and delilah

ChrisCantSkate 08-28-2002 08:38 PM

im sorry to hear that... im afraid to get a bike.

OMG.. gixxer you've just stunned me.. Damn, with the same I wanted get..

A couple of my friends went down a couple of weeks ago.. but they survived.. Bikes were dead though..

Yes I'm probably foolish.. I'm usually so calm and under controle, but when it comes to speed.. I just cant hold back.. I care more of my car's top speed than its acceleration (within reason).

TonitrusEN 08-28-2002 08:55 PM

Keeping civic as all show no go, and getting an 87 firebird :)

im sorry if i held you back on any plans, i just wanna warn of the dangers that come with a first bike, my advice would be to find a more practical motorcycle, something like a semi-cruiser or a 600cc sportbike, but that too is very fast. just be careful out there, ive had my fair share of falls and they aren't fun.

i did 192mph on a busa...i had friends clear a 2 mile straight road in order to do this... even then, i almost panicked when a bug hit my helmet(that's when i stopped), if not i probably would've gotten it to 200mph. ive never went past 100 since that day, simply because life flashed before my eyes.

ChrisCantSkate 08-28-2002 09:23 PM

a bug was that much of a problem? wow... scary

Man gixer, that's so sad. I have friends who haven't riden sport bikes before want really fast ones to start with. It just doesn't seem smart to me.

nuh man, I truely appreciate it.. I'm pretty sure, that I should just stick to cars..

Once I was riding at around 140-150 on a strech of highway up north.. and it started to drizzle.. I got scared as hell.. But since the bike was still stable, I didnt stop.. Then the wind picked up.. at which point I had to stop..

I havent felt pain on a bike.. yet.. Thats proably why I still doing stupid things..

But thats it now. My friends came so close to dying... One tried to fly between 2 cars at 235kmh.. At the last sec he realized his rear was about to touch my car, and so he kinda softly jerked the the rear.. bad move.. he lost controle and started sliding.. and took down my other buddy who was about to attempt the same.

I was rolling at around 205kmh, and so was my friend's G35.

For the first time, I really got scared, while in my car.. As I saw the 2 bikes getting closer, I was like oh god -- this really doesnt feel right...

Even when I once flew away from a cop car, I wasnt scared.. just a little stress..

it's seriously a bad idea, people say they're responsible enough to control themselves but once they're on, they won't be able to hold back. think about it, you're sitting on a 10sec bike, you see a 1 mile straighaway w/out a car in sight so what do you do?... you push ur limits....

btw, mark and delilah were also wearing helmets...

94_AcCoRd_EX 08-28-2002 09:45 PM

I agree. I know I wouldn't be able to hold back, which is why I never pursued my motorcycle endorsement. Maybe someday I'll learn to ride, but until then I'll stick to cars.

gixer 08-28-2002 09:45 PM

a friend of mine lost his right nut in a bike accident also ...we now call him "left nut"

just thought i'd change the mood of this topic a little...;)

mylittlecivic 08-28-2002 11:20 PM

ebpda9 08-28-2002 11:34 PM

Same thing happend to my friend when we were dirt biking. He landed a jump holding the brake, he flew into the handlebars and ripped his sack open.

Violent Apathy 08-29-2002 12:36 AM

Just gonna drop a new engine in my teggie so it'll last me until i can affored a BMW M5 :)

mt.biker 08-29-2002 08:07 AM

gixer thats why if i got a bike my gf wouldn't be allowed to use it. What if you lived and your gf died because of a stupid stunt like that?

I dont think bikes are that dangerous and i'll be getting one in a few years because i'm all about the BIKES! I'll only be driving it on nice sunny days and i'll take it up to speed but only on a road i know really well, and it wont be a city road it'll be up north.

As for a new car i've been hearing rumors about a new 4.0L v8 from acura that will be put in the new 4.0 RL in 2003 or 2004. When that car comes out thats the one i'll be gettting, i love my RL just wish it had more power to hang with the big boys, and so i could start off in second gear and still cream the civics! mauhahahah!

its an rl life for me!

Sorry to hear about all of the accidents. Stay safe out there.

Back on topic. I want one of the following:

1. WRX with Vishnu stage 0, Volk LE37A's, and a 1.5" drop.

2. Cheap new Accord, and a 1965 Porsche 912.

Which would you pick (if you were a big Antique Porsche fan)

Quik

DsBlu01CivEX 08-29-2002 06:17 PM

realistically...I'll be stickin with my Civic until it just won't go anymore....and maybe then I'll drop somethin new into and keep her goin....but If I were to have to buy a new car today...and i'd want a WRX or a BMW M3 or 5...I think I like the 3's a lil better....although the 5's are more rare.

ebpda9 08-29-2002 06:21 PM

M5's arte rare because of the 85000 price tag, but they are so ..... i even don't have words.

OT: Denise did u fix the car ?

richmclaren 08-30-2002 12:25 AM

I'll be stuck with my Integra until after I graduate. I'm going for corporate law, so hopefully can buy an M3 (or M5 because they're more rare! :D ) soon after.

Mushroom 08-30-2002 09:38 AM

I went for a sv650 (sort of a naked sport-standard hybrid); been riding for about a year, and I still don't use all of the power. Even with the "small" bike, msf course and full gear all the time I'm a big wus when it comes to riding fast or pushing my limits.

A big difference, even between a 13-sec car and a 13-sec bike; I think it'll be a long while before I'm good enough to take advantage of a liter-class.
