rice or nice?

well my cousin has this 4thgen prelude and hes currently looking for a kit for it, hes actually after this one here: http://www.erebunicorp.com/images/autos/prelude246f.JPG , was just wondering what u guys think of it, is it too ricey? I personally like the aggressive look of it, but dont really know if its ricey

azn_nite_ryder 08-28-2002 02:51 AM

its nice..... but that kit is too common now.... and i wouldnt call that rice whatsoever:crazy:

ebpda9 08-28-2002 07:00 AM

that's a nice kit, but it's to agressive for my taste.

Weapon 08-28-2002 07:05 AM

well when I look around image gallery of done up cars they do look common, but around where I live I have so far only seen 1 silver prelude with it

ebpda9 08-28-2002 09:35 PM

where do u live at ?

Weapon 08-28-2002 11:13 PM

all the way down here in New Zealand :paranoid:

Almighty-Si 08-29-2002 09:41 AM

Dont like it....donesn't flow well with the rest of the car.

vuep 09-04-2002 09:47 PM

doesnt flow well unless theres a huge fmic then it dont matter if its nice or rice:yes:

williecume 09-05-2002 11:47 AM

it's not too bad, just make sure he builds up the motor to back up that look.

'00EX5-turbo 09-05-2002 05:32 PM

are u going for the look or the performance? if u are planning to go fast or autox u shouldnot get a body kit cuz it only adds weight to ur car. i m using the buddy club body kit for my 00 civic ex right now and i hate it(since i m more toward racing, not showing), but it certainly looks good though! actually, i think jdm style is the most appropriate form for both show and go.

...it is just my opinion..

of course there are some kits not only look good but also adds aero dynamic to ur car(such as mugen), but they r too expensive(like the new kit for the acura rsx--$2000~$3000!!!!!!!).

2000Pimpinex 09-05-2002 09:06 PM

I personally like it. I wouldn't mind having one on my civic!

monkut 10-21-2002 08:18 PM

ive seen that on a few civics and accords and for me personally...its too agressive. i also dont like how the edges look so wafer-like. i also wouldn't call it rice. rice= 1.tacky 2.looks fast but is actually slow. you definitely wouldnt be violating def. #1 but unless you have the dohc vtec in there you may be violating #2.:)

4jacks 10-21-2002 09:26 PM

I wish they made that kit for my car... damn WW ... damn them to heck

slowEJ6 10-23-2002 02:03 AM

bodykit only adds weight?
my C-West front bumper weighed less than stock. care to elaborate on how you came to your conclusion, 00EX5?

well i dig it, but i agree that you would need the shit under the hood to back it up, as monkut said. I have seen some more aggresive ones and i dig that one a good bit. Guess i havent been looking hard enough or there aren't any kits like that in my area.

blind34_1 11-11-2002 05:24 PM

I've seen that front end or a similar one on a mustang at my school. I personally think its too wild. But then again I like modest front ends. jdm stuff always looks nice, but I'm sure it'll cost an arm and a leg. an unpainted jdm front end conversion for my car car is about 600+ shipping.

but hey, do what you like man.

Daviso27 11-19-2002 03:26 PM

There is nothing wrong with a little rice.

ChrisCantSkate 11-19-2002 04:10 PM

i guess i'll be the first to say i think that kit is complete rice... it ruins the look of a prelude IMO

Word..

VR4_Craver 11-19-2002 08:16 PM

That is the exact same kit that i was gonna use when i put my "modification hit list" into action. Where did you see it at? I saw it just tonight in the new Import Tuner mag. I fell instantly inlove with it... Where did he see this at? I would tell him to get it because i love that look!! Love the aggresiveness!!

Honda530 11-19-2002 08:16 PM

hehe I think its funny when people talk about how agressive the car looks. Its like ERRRRRRR Im agressive ERRRR watch outim gonna get ya. hehe The kits nice but i personally ldont like the fron bumper the skirts and rear of that kit are nice though. I like hte xenon body kits well at least for my car. They leave bumpers alone just replacing my front lip rear valance and skirts. Summer of 2003 I hope *fingers crossed*

SofaKingSmooth 11-24-2002 10:11 PM

RICE..... Look at the wing,

sohc_vtec 2NR 12-23-2002 10:43 AM

its too agressive, i'm not into those "look at me kits" i prefer c west, tsunami lip, or mugen front lip...just my $.02

Mischief(LTS) 12-23-2002 06:32 PM

oh no a wing! rice! wings are for show unless you are going extremely fast dragging, it has no purpose cept for show. just like a body kit. personally the body kit makes the prelude look pretty sick. you should go for it. and i think the wing complements it nicely. just watch the dips. and if you have your car lowered more than 2 inches, you might want to put stock springs back in, or sell the 2 inches and get a 1 inch job. because i guarantee you will destroy the integrity of the front bumper unless you go the route of poly urethane. which is expensive. but seeing as how thats the most critical part, you could get urethane front bumper, and fiberglass side skirts/rear bumper. that would work well

Shot 2 Hel 12-24-2002 09:50 PM

i actally heard that wings when going fast enough will lower the front end of the car, but it was like a certain type. but hey i could be wrong, i dont have one on my car so i dont know.
