My friend and I used to have these two hovercrafts......they would go in my pool and on grass. Very fun times.

Haha. The Type SS is a kit. Meaning you have to build it. And its not as hard as you'd think.
The Micro RS4 comes in 2 flavors, RTR & Kit. RTR = Ready To Run. The Micro is electric only. The Type SS is Nitro only.

Kyle 08-22-2002 01:22 PM

man...are they really worth that much?...and do you build them...i might wanna buy one...gimme some details;)

Kyle 08-22-2002 01:24 PM

TonitrusEN 08-22-2002 01:26 PM

I have a micro rs4 with micro electronics, carbon fiber chassis, upper deck, rear pod, and some mod motors. With decent batts, this thing really flies. Best micro car made IMHO.

Racing Rice 08-22-2002 02:49 PM

Target carries those Modifier cars. I almost bought one this weekend but they were all out except for one green integra. I didnt want that one.

ChrisCantSkate 08-22-2002 03:02 PM

get a RC car. they are much more fun. ive gotten mine to about 55mph. its rather quick, and can take turns almost that fast.

msvtec14 08-22-2002 03:33 PM

Those little cars are real cool. I wonder if they have them at KB or Toys R us....

Most r/c sedans can reach those speeds if geared for it.

www.towerhobbies.com
www.stormerhobbies.com

Kyle 08-24-2002 02:51 PM

those pages didn't help at all...if i was to buy a car, it would probably be rtr, because i'm not too skills at building stuff....
do they make any honda/acura cars that actually look like them...without the tires sticking out and stuff? I either want somethin like that, or something that can go on/off road...

Could someone help me find a car that it fast, and doesn't break too easy?

Edit: I also like this accord

Mobbo, if you're serious about getting an R/C car/truck, make sure to research it well first. Are you looking to race or just to bash?

Kyle 08-24-2002 06:22 PM

Well, there's not many people around with rc cars...i don't really think anyone races...
So it'll probably be just for my fun and for showing off;)
just somethin to do when i'm bored

94_AcCoRd_EX 08-24-2002 10:45 PM

If you want on-road and off-road capabilities, get a stadium truck. For stadium trucks, I have a tricked out Nitro Rustler and an almost stock Losi xxx-t MF edition. The Losi would smoke it racing, but the Rustler stands up to more bashing abuse. I jump these both at full speed (35+ mph) and they survive pretty well.

If you want to mess around, a T-maxx would be fun to get. They just released a new version with a bigger motor, better suspension, etc. Not a bad deal and you can mod the hell out of them. For more Maxx info www.maxxtraxx.com

ChrisCantSkate 08-24-2002 11:01 PM

yeah, i wish i got an off road one. sure its fun being faster than a real car upto 55-60mph, but unless you have a very good RC (mugen mt-12 is AWSOME) you cant handle very well, cause the steering just isnt the quality of it. the rs4's are about they same as mine, maybe a little better in some areas, maybe a little worse in others, but if you can find a mugen with the mt-12 engine... tell 12 second supras to watch out (seriosly)

is there a way to convert mine to a on/off road? theres a 1 mile long curvy dirt walking trail by my house that looks just like a mini rally course, and the ideas are in my head.

Kyle 08-24-2002 11:40 PM

ok...I want an off-road one i guess...there isn't too many smooth streets/surfaces where i live...
I trust you guys enough to just tell me which one would be best for me...I want something freakin fast...and durable...could one of you guys be so kind to tell me which cars would be best for me RTR

94_AcCoRd_EX 08-24-2002 11:42 PM

Well, ready to run I wouldn't recommend the xxx-nt (nitro version) because it is assembled cheaply overseas and doesn't seem to be of the best quality. Are you looking at a nitro car for sure? How much are you willing to spend?

ChrisCantSkate 08-24-2002 11:46 PM

i'd get a kit. that was almost as much fun, if not more fun assembling it than actualy running it. and assembling it lets you know how to fix it when you break it. cause ive noticed theres 2 kinds of R/C's the ones that are the ones that have had a major crash breaking stuff on it, and the ones who havnt crashed yet.

94_AcCoRd_EX 08-24-2002 11:48 PM

That's the truth. My fuel tubing stuck my throttle servo wide open in my apartment complex a couple of years ago. My R/C hit a curb doing around 40ish and completely destroyed the front end.

I'm definetely looking to buy a car. And i'm willing to spend 400 at the most probably...if i had ti spend more, i could.
And I'm terrible at building things...and i'm not good with motor/electrical stuff, so thats why i probably need a rtr.
I''m looking at that maxxtraxx page right now, and I've decided i'd like to get a truck/SUV type thing. I probably won't be too rough on it...And if i find some other people who race, i might give it a go.

94_AcCoRd_EX 08-25-2002 01:08 AM

Well, if you like the maxxes on that page, the new T-maxx will be coming out in a week or so.
http://www.towerhobbies.com/products...as/trac54.html

That will be much improved over the old T, but I can't say how easy to tune the engine is because they are brand new. You'll need:
Fuel (10%-20% Top Fuel from Traxxas)
Application of the decals
Fuel Bottle to fill tank
6 Cell Battery for Easy Starter
Charger for 6 cell battery
CA glue to attach tires to the rims

I guess that comes out to over your $400 limit, but it would be worth it. Plan on catching the upgrade bug and dumping some more cash into it after you get it though :paranoid: I also recommend running 20% fuel for a little more power.

If you have any other questions, ask away :)

ChrisCantSkate 08-25-2002 08:58 AM

get a kit, they arnt that hard, and its sooo much fun. i was only gonna work on it for 2 or 3 hours anight, but once i started i couldnt stop building it that night till i finished it. therse very detailed instructions with it too

94_AcCoRd_EX 08-25-2002 12:58 PM

Kits aren't hard at all, but if he wants a Maxx, he doesn't have a choice  There are other 1/8th scale monster truck kits out there, but most are more expensive.
