i don't think a chip will be effective if you car is stock. what have you done to it ?

wickedcivy97 08-09-2002 01:45 AM

nothing under the hood

ebpda9 08-09-2002 01:49 AM

then it's not worth it, not even with the basic mods: I/H/E

wickedcivy97 08-09-2002 02:05 AM

k thx.. what would u say is the cheapest under the hood upgrade that will actualy give me more hp and torque

CAI

for automatic cars you'd be supprised how much of a difference that a chip CAN make.

it depends on if the chip addresses the shifting though many won't include anything for the shift points in an automatic.

if you find a company that makes one designed to shift the A/T better then go get it cuz it will transform your car.

i drove in an a/t z28 b4 and after a chip and it was unreal ya ya i know it's got more to work with but. the biggest dif. was in where and when it shifted

thanks both of u for helping me out what does CAI mean anywayz lol. but thanks for the help guys

Cold Air Intake, and i'd recommend AEM then ingen.

you might wana look at a shift kit or something for your car if its an auto or even a manual swap.

CAI=Cold air intake, get the one made by AEM

thanks guys .. is it worth it to get new headers? or is there a better mod for the money thanks

ChrisCantSkate 08-10-2002 02:12 AM

with your engine, the best mod might be a new engine... i know its expensive... but its worht it.

Honda automatic trannies automatically adjust the point at which they shift dependant upon how far the throttle is depressed. It's designed to interpret the desired effect by how hard you want the car to be driven. At WOT, they automatically shift at redline. With the throttle barely depressed, it's around 3K rpm. Some other companies do it differently- a cruising/sport button, or the new M3's "driving strategy" selector. The Honda system actually works very well, and I believe having it chipped would be a waste of money.
