95 Probe GT vs. 95-99 Eagle Talon ESi
 

I was driving to a Blockbuster Video store the other day to get a movie to watch with some friends later that evening. There is a road here in Lansing called Saginaw, and it expands into a 3-laner.

I was driving along, minding my own business, when a purple Eagle Talon comes flying up. I saw him in my rear-view mirror, and noticed that he had cut off several people rather viciously. As he came up to me, I was in the left lane and he was in the right. I continued to drive normally at about 5 above the limit, which was 35mph (yeah, on a 3-lane road. Speed trap.:rolleyes: )

So anyway, he swerves over and cuts from his right lane, across the center lane, then into my lane JUST to cut me off! I mean, there was no other traffic at that point so this guy went COMPLETELY out of his way to cut me off!! :mad: What the hell?! What did I do to this guy?

So I decide to keep my cool. He didn't hit me, I don't need a ticket. I just drove along, and kept an eye on this jackass. As I proceeded, I witnessed him cut off 3 more people including an old lady. He and his passengers seemed to be having fun.

So after a while, we came to a stoplight, and I came up alongside him. I looked over, and he looked over at me. He and his friend laughed. So I looked over his car, and shook my head like it was a POS or something. :no: (It actually LOOKED okay, but I just wanted to piss him off.)

That got him mad. He sat up straight (he had been leaning WAAAY back, ghetto-fabulous style) and got a serious look on his face. From what I could tell, he had at least an exhaust, lowered, and lotsa neon lights. :pukey: He started revving like a madman, but I just idled.

When I saw the crossing side of the intersection turn yellow, I raised my revs to only 2800-3000 (I usually launch at 3800-4000 when I am serious) and held it. When the light changed to green, I just let up off the clutch and chirped a little. I took off, and I could've SWORN the guy was in reverse, or something. :confused: ;)

I immediately lost sight of him, but the BLLAAAAAAAPPPPP of his exhaust had me keenly aware of his whereabouts. I proceeded to put about 2 bus-lengths on his lame butt, and then slowed down. At the most, I had only gone up to 55. As I came back down to 40 mph, he decided to hang back and drive in a respectable manner, staying in his lane like a nice little ricer.

I tell ya, it takes a lot to get me pissed off, and these guys really had it coming. I hope I run into that car (and it's driver, of course) again sometime. I am sure I will, as Lansing Michigan is not a very big place.

BTW, you are correct- my 1995 Probe GT (which I was driving during this incident) is a 2.5L V6.
My 1989 Probe GT is a 2.2L I4 turbo.

Currently, the 89 is not running right so I would be forced to say the 95 is faster at the moment.
I will be doing the necessary work on the 89 in the first week of Sept., so at that point the 89 should be faster.

Nice kill. People like that piss me off. There's no reason to just cut someone off.
