Oil/Lube places blow!
Man, I only worked at this lube place for about 3 weeks, only to be told I wasnt quick enough, and was fired. Reasons why NO ONE should ever get a job like this:
- intense heat. People feel the need to drive, with a/c, from several towns over to get their oil changed. Oil filters are right next to scalding hot blocks, exhaust pipes, and catalytic converters. OWW! - no breaks. I suspect this is illegal, but there are no scheduled breaks. from 8 in the morning to around 630 or 700 at night, you are expected to work nonstop. - no days off. I worked constantly, every day. Was exhausted any time I had off, and couldnt spend time with friends, work on car, etc. - poor training. They give you about 2 days worth of hard-core training, and then you are expected to know everything. I wasnt even given warnings or anything. They just decided I wasnt good enough, and stopped scheduling me. Thanks guys, screw you too. So anyway, thats why I havent been on HS for a long time. If anyone is considering an Oil Lube place for a job, make sure you are willing to work extremly hard for your money. I myself am a wimp, but still its a crappy job. (Post office pays 11 bucks to sit and type in an a/c'ed office. boring yes, but hey 11 an hour??!!) |
dang...in the beginning, you were REALLY enthusiastic about it, I thought everything was going well.
Hope you get another good job |
Wow, hope your next job proves to be a little easier.

thanks guys, yeah I thought it was going to be a great job...oh well...thats how these things go i guess. Right now I'm looking at video stores, gas stations (shell only:) ), and theres this job at my future college - parking lot security. Basically drive around the lot in a company car making sure there is no trouble. 10 an hour for that?! cool i think....

Good luck!
