wouldn't that mean they'd have to shut down9 pretty much all of the IM programs?...cuz you can do file transfers in them...

There will always be a way to pirate software and music. If the code can be written, it can be cracked.

mt.biker 06-25-2002 10:28 PM

you can always get stolen stuff it will only be gotten by different means

mt.biker 06-26-2002 08:24 AM

all add something, peir to peir is a the way of the past, ftps will be where you get music that you want. Ftps can never be stopped or controlled!

ChrisCantSkate 06-26-2002 02:38 PM

FTP's are the only place ive ever gotten music from. i always thought napster kazaa and all those programs sucked anyways. besides on FTP's you can get full albums

Kyle 06-26-2002 03:37 PM

whats an FTP?

Addict 06-26-2002 03:38 PM

Nah. They won't ever stop piracy. Its not possible. All they are doing is motivating the masses to make better programs and hire better lawyers.

Ever used IRC? That can't be stopped. FTP sites can always be found and stopped. Not that they won't pop up elsewhere.....

mt.biker 06-26-2002 04:37 PM

and ftp is like seeing someones hard drive and you can download files off of it

There are ways to stop them, though they are just much harder to implement!

ChrisCantSkate 06-27-2002 11:52 AM

ftp's are faster too, the fastest i could get on any program was like 20 something k i get a nice steady 85k/s on the ftp i use

blind34_1 06-29-2002 12:37 PM

ftps, p2p, its all unstoppable - the way it should be. I like these recording companies trying to implement copy-protection. I laugh in their face, because there are still people that use their brains and get around this garbage.

The end of music sharing will mean the end of american freedom as we know it.

ChrisCantSkate 06-30-2002 11:49 PM

That's not the actual speed though. You have your DSL modem connected to an ethernet card. Its just stating that you have 10Mb between the modem & the card.;)

ChrisCantSkate 07-01-2002 11:10 AM

yeah i know. if i got 10mb/s that would be beyond fast.
