Fav. Rap or Hip hOp Artist/Group?

Whats everyones Fav Rap artist(s) or group right now? (yes Toykill I sorta got this idea from u lol). My fav Artist(s) would have to be Nas, Ja Rule, and Usher right now.

Honda_Gurl 06-11-2002 11:24 AM

well first of all i don't think usher is rap  but if you're asking hip hop/r&b, i'd have to say jagged edge, ashanti, mya, aaliyah, lots more ( i love r&b).. as far as rap goes, i like ludacris, ja rule, dre, snoop, and there's a lot of Christian rappers out there i like (but ya'll probably have never heard of them, so i won't even mention them)

NooNz 06-11-2002 11:37 AM

rap - notorious b.i.g., 2pac, dre, snoop, eminem, dmx, ja rule, jay-z, busta rhymes, swollen members

r&b/hip hop - ashanti, jagged edge, boyz ii men....

can't think anymore...once i can...i'll post 'em....

toykilla 06-11-2002 11:39 AM

There's something wrong when the best rapper in the world is white (Eminem) and the best golfer in the world is black (Tiger Woods). =] Eminem was demmed the best American wordsmith since Bob Dylan says the Washington Times...

BLu3xCiViC 06-11-2002 12:24 PM

DON'T like radio rap much but i do like and respect Twista, Bone, Do or Die, Eminem and Jin.....

ebpda9 06-11-2002 12:45 PM

i9 don't like rap and r&b

LudeBitch 06-11-2002 01:08 PM

Rap ~ Eminem, Ja Rule, Ludacris, 2Pac

Hip Hop/R&B ~ Ashanti, Usher, Aaliyah

mt.biker 06-11-2002 01:24 PM

ShEaNy 06-11-2002 01:31 PM

YA i like eminem too, snoop is ok, but i honestly think hes almost done for...same for dre i mean they'll always produce and star in other songs but i think for the most part there done making CD's... 2 Pac (R.I.P.) is great i love all his songs..even the ones that come out years after his death which i disagree with even though they are good songs....let the guy rest..making money of a dead guy..holy Sh*t.....give me a break

Violent Apathy 06-11-2002 01:33 PM

Honda_Gurl 06-11-2002 02:44 PM

oh ya i forgot to mention jay z & nelly :)

2000Pimpinex 06-11-2002 02:46 PM

Best lyricist is Eminem. I also like NAS, Dre, Cam'Ron, Nappy Roots cause they are from Kentucky. And a few others.

Addict 06-11-2002 02:53 PM

Eminem, Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri (because damn near everyone is on his albums)

Those are the ones that stick out in my head. I like ICP, Twiztid, & Kottonmouth Kings, but I don't know that they really fit the rap category. That and you can only listen to them for short periods at a time.

Accord Man 06-11-2002 04:47 PM

I hate Eminiem..

The ones I like are : Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Nas, Busta, & Diddy also makes nice stuff from time to time.

DsBlu01CivEX 06-11-2002 07:00 PM

Rap-Eminem, Ja, Missy Elliot, Nappy Roots, Nelly, Ludacris, Jay Z, JD....

R&B-112, JE, Alicia Keys (does she fit in R&B?), Aalyiah, Usher, Nicole Wray....

and there are a bunch of new artists breakin into the scene that I like the songs they have out now but I don't wanna jump to conclusions sayin that I really like them off of one song. Like I like Still Fly by Big Tymers, and the new one from the Ya Ya twins (i think thats what they are called)....I watch MTV and BET when I have off work in the evenings to pick up new songs.

juvenile 06-11-2002 07:38 PM

Rap: Nas, Tupac, Cash Money, Ghetto Conecpt is pretty good, Eminem (recent cd is AMAZIN), Saint Lunatics (Nelly and his "family"), Murder Inc (Ja Rule, Charlie Baltimore, Ashanti etc.) + many other people with any decent songs

I like Nelly he's hot ;)

heartbreakkid 06-12-2002 02:36 AM

Eminem all da way after listening to his new album, it's rock. Hey wat not to like about da guy, he's talented, wrote his own songs and all. He also can sure rap, if not the best at least better than most rapper all there rite now singing all these junks and meaningless songs.

DsBlu01CivEX 06-12-2002 02:12 PM

Not to make this post about eminem and who likes him and who doesn't...but....Whether I agree with what he is saying or not, I still gotta respect the guy. He's gettin paid for sayin what he believes. No matter how controversial he is with his lyrics, the man still has talent. He doesn't worry about who he offends because he is being true to himself and what he believes is right and true. Which deserves respect. How many other people can say that? Not too many I'm sure. And there are even fewer that can say that they get paid for saying what they think is true and not being ashamed for it.

couldn't agree more with ya there. He is a crazy mofo but (as far as we know) he is saying what hes thinking/believes in.

Thats partly why i like his music, because he doesn't front... well incomparision to other rappers.

Accord Man 06-12-2002 09:04 PM

I forgot to mention Shyne.. And Swizz is good on the beats.

H2OCivic95 06-12-2002 09:14 PM

Atmosphere, dope group

bootstrap 06-12-2002 10:59 PM

Atmosphere is no longer a group, i thought they broke up a year ago. Slug is pretty good. Umm who the **** likes Ja Rule????? Eminem is ok although i don't like his beats too much. Nas, biggie, the old snoop, dre (although he DID jack all of his beats). Umm i guess the old dmx, some xhibit, nelly is ok sometimes, oh of course i like everybody in Wu-Tang (yes, even ODB), i like noreaga for no reason at all, I hate tupac for no reason at all, ludicrous is ok, outkast is good but a little too different for me at least (of course being different is what makes them good). Thats just the new artists, i like alot of the old stuff but i haven't had time to listen to alot of music lately... oh yeah, how do you think nelly is hot? he's missing like 5 front teeth

bootstrap 06-12-2002 11:00 PM

ok i guess atmosphere DIND'T break up... what was i smoking

TruHeel142 06-12-2002 11:52 PM

Eminem, Nelly & St. lunatics, Ludacris, JayZ, Ja Rule....bubba sparxxx(hahaha, i know), and...other stuff

Kyle 06-13-2002 01:35 AM

you guys need to stop ****ing saying ja rule...he sucks total ass!no talent what so ever...
ok...eminem...ice cube(kicks ass)...
ludacris is always good the first time you hear the song...same with nelly...Mobb deep is tight...so is Nas...big tymers;)
Swisha House...( don't know if any of you have heard ofthis...i mainly like lil flip...some other guys are ok...most things chopped and screwed are alright...(if you're into it...it's an aquired taste...especially for a white boy)

juvenile 06-13-2002 09:14 AM

ja rule is actually pretty good
but to each is own

ShEaNy 06-13-2002 01:25 PM

Cadillac Tah

ShEaNy 06-13-2002 01:45 PM

YA thats It. nice! thanks man i was looking all over for that name!

blownteggy 06-13-2002 02:12 PM

the reason ja rule sucks is because he sold out. when he first cam out, way back when, he was this little thug that you could listen a be like " damn that verse was tight". now, all he does is have some r&b chick sing the hook and his rhymes have turned to garbage.

ShEaNy 06-13-2002 02:17 PM

i still like his beats.... and most of of his songs are ok...i like the way he raps....

juvenile 06-13-2002 06:31 PM

Exactly.
I must agree that Ja Rule has turned more into a chic machine.
Like Holla Holla was his best song I must agree. Now all he sings is about love and his chics. hehe not that I mind, since his videos feature them (Ashanti in Down 4 U   ), but still, I'd rather have Ja somewhat back to his older ways.

DsBlu01CivEX 06-13-2002 06:49 PM

I like Ja cuz his voice is damn sexy....ummm deep voices....it's like Vin Diesel or Barry White. No woman can resist a deep sexy voice!

And I forgot a R&B artist I like....Montell Jordan...he's got some good songs.
