Carbon bonnet or carbon bonnet skin?
I own a 92 civic, i got around to the engine, suspension and wheels first, but am only getting around to the style now, I want a carbon bonnet, but i can get a full carbon bonnet which is expensive or a skin that sticks to my original bonnet, i'm not concerned about weight, but which looks better?
Engine mods; ported and polished head, k&n induction kit, full janspeed exhaust, vtec timer, B&M Short shifter, hotwire leads, spitfire triple platinum plugs. Suspension; Avo coilovers and omp strut brace Wheels; 17inch BSA 178's red dot front discs and greenstuff pads Bodywork; Lexus rear clusters. Thats it Mods to come; Cams, clutch and maybe a kingdom developments intruder front bumper? |
When you say bonnet are you talking about a hood? I would go with a real carbon fiber hood, get a good one though. Id also get one that use the frame on the bottom to make it stronger and one that uses the factory latches.
For future reference, you should have posted this in the body mod forum for better results. |
is carbon fiber not as lighter than OEM sheet metal ??

A carbon fiber hood will save you weight over the stock hood. |

Hey yall he said he wasnt concerned about weight... yes it is lighter... I would get the entire hood and not just the skin... the skin will look ricey... get a nice hood with some subtle yet tasty vents to keep the engine nice and cool:cool: |
