Accord vs. Me vs. Friend
 

Well Im cruising along and a nice nice 2door new accord comes by... ive seen him around but never raced him... has rims tires body kit exhaust lowered the works... and a "redline imports" winshield banner- I know people in this city and several 80k+ cars wear the "redline imports" banner so I figured Id get smoked... anyways we go from a 45mph to 100 about twice... we hung dead even- his is manual mine is automatic so I was happy to be able to floor it and keep up with this guy... he looked real upset after I was starting to reel him in at 100... because mine is an automatic it sucks from a roll and with my AWD I know I could have taken him at a light... too bad we didnt get one tho-
friend in car thought it was an acura cause he turned into the acura dealership... 10 minutes and 1 bet later he owed me 20 bucks:D gotta love peoples faces when they:
A) Lose a stupid $20 bet
B) Have an automatic SUV keep up with their heavily modified import

Heh you think YOU are suprised at that? My jaw just about fell off when I realized he hadn't killed me by about 10 18-wheelers... Oh and my friend isnt THAT stupid, the badges were all shaved and he thought it was a 2door CL... oh well I got 20bucks now... going in box for my hatch:)

Me too. The mods that highlander has must have taken a second or two off of his quarter mile...

My quarter is 16.4 with stock tires... gears dropped .10 with the new tires so im expecting low low 16s with the new tires... I dunno what the stock times are but I think they are 18ish... I dunno how intake/exhaust/rims/tires did so much to the 1/4 time but im not gonna question it;)

so you're saying that I'd be able to run with your car 1/4 mile?

what's your 0-60?

0-60mph is somewhere in the flat7 range- dunno cause all ive had is a stopwatch so may not be completely accurate- 0-60' is, well... I lost my time slip but I think it was like 2.2or something- cant remember..

well I do ~8.7 0-60 16 1/4 mile

Well you also have a car- aka much less weight to carry those extra hundred KM down the track... that gives u better top end and less acceleration... oh yeah did i forget to mention how last time I went to the track i raced a civic hatch and got an R/T of about 1.4 seconds... got bored waiting and started messing with radio- funny thing is that when I took off after 1.4 seconds the hatch was still spinning in the oil:D

Sad thing is i smoke imports around here all the time, the only thing i've lost to is a Camaro Z28. My Durango is bone stock, bout 235 claimed horsepower (haven't put it on the dyno ;P).
I've never lost to anything but that Camaro though, pure rice here in Phoenix as far as modded imports go, at least until i get my Civic Hatch :cool:
