CD stacker on stock head unit???
Hi,
i was wonderning wheather you guys could help i have a 1998 Civic Hatch I have done nothing with the standard sterio it has tape, am/fm It also has a CD button (for a CD stacker) does this mean if i buy a CD stacker it can be linked up to the head unit. with no extra devices? i was thinking like a Pioneer cd stacker or something. I really hope this could be done but i am not sure so please give me an answer!!!! thanks |
cd STACKER? wow... never heard a cd changer called that b4.
yeah there's a port on the back of the stereo to plug in the feed from the cd changer. |
Stacker is an Australian term
don;t know what the American word is for it! |
will it mater what kind he gets? or will any kind work?
|
needs to be the same brand as the deck... unless you get one with a radio transmitter... then any of them will work but it won't sound as good.
|
so it needs to be the same brand as the head unit.
If i had to replace the head unit as well, then could i keep the same speakers?? |
oh yeah... speakers are completely independant of anything else... as long as you don't put a million watt amp on them or something. :D

love the avatar!!!! ;)

you can put an aftermarket cd changer, stacker, box, whatever you want to call it, on your factory HU. but you will need an adaptor. blitz makes a pretty good one. i don't know the exact model you will need but that is the brand. and yes there is a limitation to what brand "stacker" you can use if you want to be able to use it through your existing HU. i am not sure which ones work with that specific car, but if you want i can find out.

Or are you talking about the add-on CD player for the second DIN opening?
|
either one will take the adaptor unless you use a FM modulator.
