Got a ticket... :-(

This sux. I should have known better than to drive on Sunset blvd. out here in Los Angeles on a Saturday night. I was driving home and there was a cop car behind me...didnt think anything of it. Then I get the flashers...I pull over. What the prob? No front license plate. Now I have to appear in court and pay a fine...I hate cops!

4jacks 05-15-2002 05:14 PM

Yea... We have cops here too... LOL ...

Did you have the plate on you... ussually you should be able to whine something like.. The screw came off.. or some crap..

No points right ?

Honda_Gurl 05-15-2002 05:17 PM

i know exactly what u mean! i've had a ticket for no license plate in the front before. but over here, all i did was take a picture of it with it on, and take it to the judge and got the ticket dismissed.

i got a ticket on sunday night also for... MODIFIED EXHAUST. this cop was an idiot. he said "did u know it's illegal to put any kind of..insert some weirdo word i've never heard..??" to which i replied "wha?" and he goes "u know, the thing that makes your car go 'vrooom'"  talk about being patronizing. so i said "u mean the muffler?" he said ya... then proceeded to ask me like 3 times if the car was mine. "u sure it's yours?" ugh  what kinda ticket is that?? he said it's illegal to modify your exhaust system at all...nothing to do with the noise level obviously cause he didn't even hear it (it was during a checkpoint). does anyone know about the laws in texas? i really don't think i deserved this ticket at all...

4jacks 05-15-2002 05:21 PM

That's Gay,

tell the judge, you bottomed out , put a hole in the muffler, and put a new one on... and that OEM was too expensive... so you got a shiny one... big deal.

HondaTypeJ 05-15-2002 05:48 PM

Lol! Sorry, I meant I hate cops! I was told I can have it dismissed also (by the cop), by taking a picture in showing that it was attached. I had the plate (when I got pulled over) and showed it to him saying it fell off earlier that morning...and he told me too bad..."its not my problem". I swear...L.A. cops are asses.

HondaTypeJ 05-15-2002 05:49 PM

I was driving on a night when they were doing the "No cruising" check...Always trying to take away our fun.

94_AcCoRd_EX 05-15-2002 06:00 PM

I've been pulled over a couple of times for no front plate. I just act dumb and say that's the way it was when I got it, and they let me go with a warning...

DsBlu01CivEX 05-15-2002 06:45 PM

Cops suck a$$ for the most part. I don't get the no cruisin law. We have that here in York too and the cops normally don't enforce it unless you are actin like a punk. They will say something to ya about parkin along the street and standin outside your car. For some reason that bothers them. And most cops around this area don't know about moddin cars so unless you have something really obvious that is illegal, they won't pull ya over. That front license plate thing is messed up. We don't have to have the front plates here in PA. I don't get the purpose of them anyway. Whatever....the last time I was pulled over the cop wanted to get me for a DUI....lucky for me I hadn't been drinking that night (i'm not dumb enough to do that and drive)...but I still got a reduced ticket and 3 pts for speeding. Dam lead foot!

Wow, thats crap. MOST cops are a-holes. But I'm not gonna start, cause if I do, I won't stop. Cops suck, lets just leave it at that.

DsBlu01CivEX 05-16-2002 08:22 AM

What is up with the requirement of front plates in some states. I never understood that. Anyone care to share the importance of them?

THAT'S EXACTLY how it is here. they're trying to pass an ordinance for no cruising zones right where we always cruise sunday nights. i swear there must be like 40 cops out every sunday night just pulling people over and having inspection points up all over the street we cruise on. it's ridiculous. i think the ordinance is going up for review next week, so we'll see what happens with that. until then i still gotta deal with that stupid ticket!!

Mushroom 05-16-2002 08:59 AM

If you are standing infront of me and I almost run you down but you get scared/tipped/something happens and you can't see the back plates...do you want the front plates now, or would youl ike that maniac to be on the roads? :)

DsBlu01CivEX 05-16-2002 07:19 PM

ah just let him hit me....i shouldn't be standin in the road anyway!

blind34_1 05-26-2002 05:25 PM

I heard a reason they like you to have front plates is to have something for radar(maybe lidar) to bounce off of. Especially if you have a black car. Don't know if thats true or not. Anyone else hear that?

Quist 05-26-2002 09:35 PM

Ya the flat front plate makes a good target for the radar to bounce off of. But now with lazers it doesnt really matter.

Everyone try this, next time you are driving try and memorize the plate of a car passing you at the last moment(remember the cops have to have a reason to be memorizing the plate, thats why I said at the last moment) Im sorry but its next to impossible. Its just another way for the Man to bring us down *evil laughter*

rakugaki 05-28-2002 11:16 AM

TruHeel142 05-30-2002 11:38 PM

Cops just follow me around all the time, just waiting for me to speed or do something stupid....well, no luck for them. 5.0's need to get some freakin lives!!! And I'm glad I don't have to have a front plate, cause i wouldn't put one on anywayz. Pigs just tick me off:pukey

rakugaki 05-31-2002 12:19 AM
