Welcome to HS

Looks really nice, great job. Did you do most of the work yourself?

civicboy69 05-13-2002 05:15 PM

Polished the valve cover myself, friend and I did the interior. Friend painted ths front lip. Some stuff I will do myself or with a friend but I had a shop do the header, lower the car, rear tie bar.

but the main question still goes unanswered: how did u polish the valve cover ?

welcome

civicboy69 05-14-2002 03:07 PM

Ok, here is the instructions. This is what I did.

Materials:
Emory Cloth metal sand paper
500 sand paper
1500 sand paper
2000 sand paper
good metal polish(I used wenyol)

Start by removing the valve cover
Once its of start sanding with the emory cloth sand paper. Keep sanding until it looks pretty shinny. Dont worry about the scratches they will come out. Next take the
500 grit and WET sand to start taking out some of the sratches. Do the same with
the 1500 grit to get even more sratches and then use the 2000 to get all rest of the
fine sratches out. Next take the metal polish and clean it all up. If it isn't shinny enough for you, repeat all the steps in order untill you get the results you want. I took me about two weeks of doing it here and there to get it to look like that. It takes a long time. You can get it done in one day but thats working on it ALL day. Have fun and be patient.
