:D Yeah that things a beast. I wonder how it sounds. |
I havent heard the amp yet.. But I did get a chance to see the detailed specs.. And it looks quiet promissing.
|
where did you see the specs? if it is anything like their 5,000 watt sub i would expect to be dissapointed.
J |
Someone I know, happened to have them..
And if decides to compete with one of those, he'll probably be one of the first to have one in his whip. |
do you happen to know what the specs are? or do you know a site where i can see them?
J |
Nah I dont they're on any site..
If you want to know anything in particular let me know.. I cant just scan the sheet and post it.. I think I could get into trouble for doing that.. |
do you know of any one site in particular?
J |
Nope, sorry..
I dont think harman is yet at the point of publicizing the specs.. Its still at the hush hush stage.. |
so how did you find out about it?
J |
A friend of mine, runs JBL.. & I guess he has connections, I dunno..
|
Damn that thing is HUGE!!
|
Actually...this amp is not a big secret, there's an article on that amp in the may 2002 issue of car audio and electronics.Unfortunately, they don't give out any specs, only what they made it with and who worked on it.They just say that it's a 6000 watts RMS. Hope we'll know the specs soon, and also what the price tag on that beast's gonna be!!!
|
i guarantee the price tag will be totally outrageous.

i got the pic from car audio's website, now the question is, who will make a 10,000 watt amp? |

me !!!! j/k |
and I'M a post whore.

whats the spec on a vega 18" Stroker @ its peak before it goes d.c if i'm not mislead i did read about one going to 5000watts rms before it smoked am not sure but did see something like that...
|
look it up. vegas got a new spl monster though.
5000W RMS is not correct. 5000W Max maybe for .5 seconds. then total meltage would ensue. |
not 5000 rms. not possible with existing technology. sorry to burst your bubble.
J |
my bubble aint burstin my i ask it to burst i read it somwhere long time ago it was a review done they did a "vertual 500 rms" not in "Real LiFE! . I THINK IT WAS THE SAME TIME AS WHEN soundstream RELEASED THEIR "TARANTULA" MODEL.... am not sure when i think it was round that time. the test was done in the uk.Dont matter if it was reached for o.1 ms FACT OF THE MATTER IS it was reached .Most amps claim to read round the 2 k scene most cant get anywhere near that for x amount of time. Also if they could get there ( the quoted r.m.s.) that i'm sure the amps needs shit loads loads of "Amps" which most cars cant even generate even with todays good high class alternators or batterys. for a quick example lets try the Kenwood 1023 classic bass head amp whats the spec and whats needed to achive its rated max r.m.s. ...
|
i personally am not familiar with that amp, but i would say if 2 caps can't do it, a respun alternator and if that can't do it both. you know what i just noticed, this, "Jbl Came Out With A 6.000 Watt Amp!" that i can believe, a 6 watt jbl amp is very possible.

Sorry to come back on this thread.. I kinda forgot about it.. But the amp in question is built 100% on CROWN technology. Just a JBL badge.. Now you do know about CROWN dont you? |
