my suggestions

first off, glad to be on board. a few things to consider will be the Forced Induction board. i say split up the N20, Turbo, and SC. this will avoid any kinds of arguments regarding the types of Fi. it will smoothly flow.

then a "how to" or "do it yourself" section. best way to learn your own car is to do as much mods as possible to your car.

just a few suggestion..........:D

Chief 08-29-2001 10:42 PM

Actually, this one I want to think about for a bit...to make sure I split it up the most appropriately. I may be emailing you on this one, so be on the lookout (although not tonight because I'm tired from all this work ;) )

How about some more input from everyone on how they would like to see this done? Also, what about the how-to section - Would you rather see it as it's own topic, or simply post your questions/explanations under the appropriate category (by car type)?

A few things to think about...

All good suggestions - keep going..!

the "how to section" can be a moderator operated board only. it can be a "sticky" only stuff, BUT under its own category. no replies should be allowed. what's gonna happen is that, once a question is posted somewhere else, i.e. civic, integra, accord board etc..., moderators and members can "paste" a url for the actual thread that was posted on the "how to" section. it's kind of like, re-directing the traffic to a "sticky". any member can obviously submit a "how to", but moderators are the only ones who can make it stick.

the advantage of having a section for "how to" is that, so peeps do NOT have to post the same thread or question over and over again. a simple paste of url should take care of this problem.

a DISCLAIMER should be posted also, just in case.......

thermal 08-29-2001 11:34 PM

another thing is, some people may perceive other topics differently.
for instance, if i need an advice to get a CAI for a 99 civic, should i go to the civic forum or the engine mod forum? some peeps may think that a CAI mod should be an engine mod thread not a civic thread ......and others may percieve it vice versa....

that is why, IMO, the engine mod should be divided and specified by it's topic.

Okay, I'm sold. A very worthy idea. Do you want it as one big topic or sub-divided? Tell me exactly how you'd like it laid out, and it is done. ;)

p.s. You're moderating something... You have no choice (insert Dr.Evil laugh here)....

Definitely- the site looks great!

Thermal- Don't I know you from SHO? Anyways...

IMO, the engine modification forum should be left up to the individual forums (i.e. Integra, Civic, etc...). As for the FI forum, I think it makes more sense to have turbo and superchargers together. Someone debating between the two could benefit from a little spirited debate. Also, a lot of the same concepts (boost levels, low compression, etc...) apply to both. Nitrous, however, should be on its own. Very rarely is someone debating between nitrous and true FI.

A forum I would personally like to see (that I haven't seen anywhere else) is a forum dedicated to all motor buildups- super aggressive camshafts (Toda Spec B & C, Jun Stage 2 & 3), valvetrains, high compression, so on and so forth.

As for the how-to: It's gonna be different for every car. If it were me, I would put it as a sub forum for each car, and leave it up to the moderators to add to and keep tabs on.

Anyways, yeah, the site looks great. Can't wait to get more people here.

he he he...2ndgenteg waz up man? were u on the same username? i remember your sig (pic). i thought your sig is cool with the statement "both mine". great to see u here man. stick around bro.

IMO, subdivided with an additional "General or others". the reason being, ofcourse IMO, is that there are a lot of similarities with all honda cars. procedures like wiring an A/F gauge and VTEC light indicator can be applied to almost any honda car. so instead of going to a link (from someone), members can remain on this site and learn more.......that's good business ;)

i agree with 2ndgenteg's idea on all motor forum. this can get very technical. it will draw more peeps who really knows honda to remain on the board........

MrCLoWnY 08-30-2001 05:17 PM

AND FINALLY MRCLOWNY HAS COME BACK TO HONDA STYLE> ahhaahahahahah CAN YOU SMEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLL MY SMOKE FROM my Exhaust???? hahahaha whats up peoples.

Chat room user name

I have one question about the chat room. I have tried to get into it using the same user name that I use in the chat forums and it says that it is already taken. My password doesn't work. Will I have a different user name for the chat room than I do in the message forums? And if so, I cant figure out how to save a new user name for myself.

Chief 08-30-2001 10:51 PM

Unfortunately, the two are not integrated... The chat forum uses an irc client - which means that if someone else out there using irc (and there are many!) has already registered the name you want to use, you'll need to come up with another one.

A couple tricks to try would be to add special characters to the name you want. For example: crx^ or ^crx^ - but that is no guarantee either... Once you find a name you like, I'd suggest registering it.

Hope that helps.

same here man......very thankful of being a part of the "originals":D

thermal 09-02-2001 01:42 AM

another idea is a featured car club on the front page. just like having a featured ride.

Chief 09-02-2001 06:44 AM

Well bring it on....
If anyone cares to email me some photos and facts, I would be more than happy to add that to the front of the site. If the interest is there, I could find a way to incorporate it into a similar fashion as the featured rides or the featured articles (err, which is still a mere concept and will hopefully become closer to a reality after this week...) ;)

Anybody?

thermal 09-02-2001 04:10 PM

i'm gonna e-mail a couple of my friends that are in a club.:)

Addict 09-03-2001 03:23 PM

A featured car club area would be good. Or something to that effect. Other than that the site looks good. Keep it up.....
