remote face plate cable

has anyone mounted a face plate in a remote spot in their car? I need a cable to go from the head unit to the remote mounted face plate. If you have done this, where did you get a cable for it, or how did you make one? Thanks for any help given.

i would think thats a custom fab cable. especially the connector.
i havent seen that done but im sure if your stubborn enough and have time you can make one. where are you trying to put the plate?

Brandon may have some insight into the cable issue. he's the resident wiring guru.

I have an A/C pop up vent from an early civic wagon that I am mounting in the top of the dash on a 99 civic. You press a small button and the front of the vent tilts up from the dash to reveal the face plate. I bought both conectors from Panasonic but they are very small and don't realy have any way of soldering wires onto them. They are really made to be mounted in a circuit board. I guess I'll just have to try and solder it though.

Well if you already have the connectors for each end, try looking up a custom cable company. Usually they do computer cables. network cables, etc. They should be able to wire it up for you.

A couple of my buddies have done this..

They fabricated the wires themselves.. Find all the connection points. Soldered the whole thing up, using some sort of a micro-soldering kit. Works great and is very original (good for shows).

Which model cd player are we talking about?
