Called Autosport Addiction by my house they said 1,800 for me to switch from an automatic to a manual :( thats alot:( And I cant sell the car because my mom just bought as a present.......

That's a lot of money. If I were you, I'd just save up for a swap instead. It may take awhile to get the money... but you'll get a lot more than a new tranny.

BTW, I just thought I'd tell you after reading your info that its spelled VTEC, not VTECH... :)

So can't you tell your mom that you are getting basically the same thing except with a different tranny
that it's still a present from her?

screw it.. fix up the car for now and worry about the tranny later..:yes:

What no faith in the auto tranny? Manual trannys don't mean fast cars. I had a 98 EX Auto that smoked Si's. Keep the car and focus on mods. The autos aren't bad.

Have some faith. A little work and anything's possible.

There was an Automatic Civic EX in SCC that ran mid 12s on a stock auto Tranny..:yes:

You'd be amazed. The auto trannys are very durable. My 98 EX had nitrous on it. Held up great.

manuals are sooooo much fun tho :) total driver control....just MHO!

i was quoted 1100 in parts and am expecting around 700 in labor unless someone wants to help me attempt it!

They are... Ill agree with you on that.. But not worth the 1800$ to switch if you dont have to yet.

hell yeah when your car has like 30 hp more then a civic dx and the dx 5speen can beat ya trust me its worth it!!!
