Raced my friend's GTI
 

I raced my friend's 98 or 97 VW GTI this weekend.He has the non VR6 version.we pull at the light,I've never raced him before,he has intake, 270 high-end cams,chipped,and exhaust.
I have the pretty sycok super hatch.me and my cousin were in my car and him and my other boy were in his car.So at the light it turns green,I get the little jump on him not much though since he got more torque of course even though heavier.stuck with him till mid to late 3rd then he started get in front but by 4th he was ahead. In 4th and 5th he keeps up with my other boy with a 97 VW jetta VR6 with intake,chipped,and exhaust,and my other boy McLude(on this board)he has a 99 lude with intake header and exhaust.so his non VR6 GTI is pretty fast.But all in all even though I lost,I feel good and proud of my hatch.his mods to my air filter.Honda-Pride(But when I get my swap and a couple mods someones ass will get smoked and it won't be mine.);)

I was close till 3rd,when he started to pull,but 4th,I'm no match,past 80.;( Oh well.

yeah man nice race, 3rd in the hatch is a slug.....its like 1st and 2nd are good but when you get to the top of 3rd its just like BLAH! any close race i had lost in my hatch when D16Yed was most likely due to the top of 3rd sucking so bad.

its like when you get to the middle of third it's like the world slows down for you,and the rest accelerates, and your like yelling in slow motion noooooooooooooooooo!!!!,well maybe not that bad,depends. :D

there hard to come by,the place I got them from met a certain accident, cause jackson racing heard about it and dynoed them and were jealous of the power gains,I guess to close for comfort for them, cause of it's Awesome!instant bolt on power!
But don't be fooled by imitations!

no no...thats exactly how it is. when i was D16Y pride i lost @ the VERY top of 3rd to a mid 15sec EX. right in the last 1000rpm i got pulled on by like a crumb *sign was the end - 1/4* so i had to shut it down just SECONDS after i lost....it sucked

Bro to me losing sucks and I hate to lose especially to some punk kid who thinks he's the shiznit.But as I said one day I shall bath in the glory of the winners circle.But actually today a black i think 85-89 mustang 5.0 GT wanted to race me,revving, pulling next to me, and hittin the gas pulling ahead then slowing down waiting for me.it sucks.to bad my pads were in the shop today getting upgrades tuned to 72 HP. or I would have taught him a lesson!;) And AccordMan maybe it is PH I haven't been there in a long azz time. I wasn't even there that long to begin with.:confused:

But hybrid I might go out there not sure.who knows?:confused:

When People With 8 cylinders wanna race your 4. That means your thier Idle.

So you claim to have pulled on a V8 Mustang GT in a stock engine 1.6L Civic? :eek: What mods did you have on it?

haha i had exhaust and a short shifter. he was really low in the rpms, it was all in fun. from the length i gained being in 2nd and him in 3rd, by the time i had to shift he was caught up and about to leave me but we had to turn into my entrance. even he was like, do0d wtf, you were pulling on me.
