loose motor mount?

Sup guys, thread doesn't belong here but yeah..we all know why

Anyway, lately my car has been acting weird. In 1st and 2nd gear, whenever I let my foot off the accel. it shakes REALLY badly. Doesn't matter if I let it off quick or slow, unless I push in the clutch really quickly, it'll give a bigass shudder.

My friends think its a loose motor mount, but from what I've read around other common symptoms include really loud cranking noises and a very..uncomfortable idle..my car doesn't do this other stuff though.

What do you guys think?

might be broken too, or the iacv took a crap

i'd only rule out the iacv if it's idling poorly, under vaccuum (when you snap the throttle closed) i don't think you would notice a shitty (and bucking) idle as much as he's describing.

The motor mount is a good assumption. Just have someone rev up the car while you watch the motor and see how much it moves. Then bust out the wrench and a mirror so you can tighten and inspect them all.

eh, a totally shot iacv will make it shudder like that without necessarily having an idle issue - mine did at times
when you say the idle's uncomforable...how so?

I vote for cleaning the inside of the iacv, and also its connectors (plus use of dielectric grease) and then go from there

Sorry let me make it more clear. What I meant was, my car did NOT have the other problems (bad idle and cranking noises), just the big shudder.

well cleaning and replacing the screen on the iacv will obviously rule that out.

Friend of mine had similar issues, thought it was the motor mount and was going to have it replaced. TUrned out to be something with his allienment... go figure.

i had a failing iacv. cleaning the screen didn't help at all, and after a week more the thing completely failed. 200 bucks later I toss a brand new iacv on there, and all idling problems solved. cleaned the fitv, too, and no I have no more warmup idle problems.

Odd thing was, I could drive mostly okay with the iacv wiring disconnected. I did notice it acted different when I let off the throttle, but it wasn't horrible. Still, it was a pain to even start the car without it.

IACVs are funny things.

Gets even worst when the AC is on..
