"file download - security alert"
I reformatted, just to "clean house" the other week and now I get this message, "file download - security alert" whenever I try to open videos or music files from the internet.
Before, the file would just open, in either winamp or media player, but now it always asks if I want to "save or open". Hell, if I want to save it, I will right-click and save as.... When I tell it to open it, a progress bar pops up telling me that its saving to the Temp. folder...also never happened before... How do I turn this off? |
probably updated winxp to winxp sp2
|
I was using sp2 before
|
bueller...

This in IE I take it? Check the security settings tab (tools->internet options). Try setting that to the default level. There's also an advanced tab as well.

oops, forgot this was still open
All the settings for it were correct, but it was just not running correctly. I just removed all of SP2 and reinstalled it = issue solved Hurray Microsoft |
