Everyone always raves about german engineering...

I think they should be more specific... they're good MECHANICAL engineers... the japaneses OWN electrical engineering...

Mercedes/BMW/VW are the biggest electronic nightmares in the world... they have TONS of glitches on production cars because they spend more time engineering stuff then they do testing it.

They also use first run models as test beds... which of course all companies do to a point... but the germans have a tendancy to release something cuz they want to say "we released that first" intead of "we released that when it was perfect"... which IMO is a departure from their attitudes on mechanical items, and poorly reflects on their decisions.

I don't have audio though I couldn't hear the clip... I'll check it out at some point.

Top gear is a pretty good show.
