lookin at these headunits, need feedback
So yeh I currently have a had a smiple Pioneer HU for the past 3.5 years and I'm about to get an ipod video and want to hook that up to my HU and also just wanna upgrade. My pioneer does not have an aux input and these do....here are the links for both.
Sony http://www.crutchfield.com/S-gF9J9t6...00&I=158R5715X Alpine http://www.crutchfield.com/S-gF9J9t6...0&I=500CDE9845 I am leaning more towards Sony, but hear better stuff about Alpine. I just think the Alpine design is too plain and boring...what do you guys think. Also which will be more reliabe in the long run? |
i would avoid the alpine.. stay away from ones with a rotating knob.
Yeah that too, I hate those mine now doesn't have that also Alpine doesnt come with a remote, I think i'm gettin that Sony....any other suggestions?
I cant live without a rotating knob
edit: jus read the reviews on crutchfield about the alpine and sonds hot, I have aftermarket speakers fronts pioneer and 6x9 infinity and I'm sure they are going to sound better, thing is alpine is 45x4 and i blieve sony is 52x4 will that make a difference...oh and I found alpine brand new in box for 150 shipped on ebay so I might do that
Go with the Alpine... I just installed that exact unit in my brother's Wrangler two nights ago and it sounds great. I also have an Alpine in my Z (7995) and coupled with high-end speakers and amps it is awesome. Love the rotating knob as well, don't want to push a button 20 times to jack the volume...

whats wrong with knobs
i got that alpine unit. sounds real good with my alpine type rs and type ss.
I <3 my alpine 9813
A rotating knob is a necessity for me.
Entry level units, it doesnt really matter which you go with.. But 99% of the time, Alpine owns Sony.. And not that it matters, but all of my systems included an Alpine HU. |
KNOBS for life
alpine it is fellas, found one on ebay for 150 shipped brand new lets see how my pioneer and infinity 6x9s rock now
