I will be deployed... again

I am due for another deployment at the end of this month. This is my 3rd one although this time, I will only be there for 3 months vice 6 months.

I cant say where my ship is going to but most of you know where military people go these days for deployment anyway.

My username will be static for a little bit.

I still plan to dyno my Teg before I leave tho. My girlfriend is gonna drive it every now and then. My civic will be collecting dust and snow flakes until I get back in late January or early February.

I'm also looking forward to going to a shore assignment when I get back in Feb. I'll be moving up to Manassas Va about 3 hours from here and chill for 3 years........

Sup?!

Well, I'm here in Rota, Spain. I had to stay behind while my ship go on with their mission. I'm currently expereincing medical problems on my right eye. The doctor diagnosed it as eyethritis.... a step below glaucoma. Thank God that that I was able to see an optometrist here. It was a severe case of eye redness and discomfort. My right eye was very red and unable to stay open. Evaluation revealed excessive pressure building behind my eye due to undialating pupils. It took several days for the pupils to completely dialate. This dialation will release the pressure behind my eye and eventually heal the swelling. I'm better now. I just gotta keep up with the medication and eye-drop-steroids.

That is what's up with me. I cant really explore this area much since my eye is very sensitive to light as it remains dilated 24 hrs a day for this next 2 weeks..... I know staring on the computer like this doesnt make it any better but I'm so bored......

You all take it easy and have a great Holidays!

-Arnel

Mischief 12-14-2005 09:35 AM

Ack, shitty to hear, but glad you're getting fixed and getting proper treatment! stay safe fucker!

mavaaoife 12-14-2005 11:15 AM

Glad your getting it all fixed up.. Happy holidays and stay safe in spain

pdiggitydogg 12-14-2005 11:42 AM

argh nel? ;)

when you said you had somehting like glacoma, i thought they were going to perscribe something herbal...:smoking:

hope you get better man, good hearin from you

GT40FIED 12-14-2005 05:52 PM

Shit man...at least they dropped you in a country with decent medical care (or are you dealing with the notoriously sub par military health care?). How does that even work? Do they drop you off and say "we'll be back for ya in a while"? Walk around with your eyes all dialated and scare children. I did that once when I went to the eye doctor and they gave me that shit that dialates your pupils for a few hours. I had to go to work right after the doctor and I had a grand old time.:D

thermal 12-15-2005 07:13 AM

Thanks everyone

Steve,
It is looking like I will be chasing the ship around Europe or Med. I'm not looking forward to that. I hate helicopter rides. My Captain wants me back as soon as my condition is steady.

Actually, I'm pretty impressed with the facility they have here. I've seen worst in the civilian community. I guess they made sure this hospital has decent equipment to avoid sending people back to U.S.

IALuder 12-15-2005 12:10 PM

2 weeks, damn. so after the 2 weeks do you have stay at the hospital for check up or make trips back every so often?

thermal 12-17-2005 09:20 AM

No.... lol.... I'm not confined in the hospital. Honestly it feels like I'm scamming from work. I live in a nice barracks by myself... own bed, own room, own bath room, own TV, own fridge, blah blah. I go to the hospital mon-fri at 10 AM. I stay there on an average of 1 hour then I fuk off all day... that's it. I get treated pretty well since I'm an E7 now..... ha ha...
