New Gen Consoles

So the new gen consoles are about to be about and god knows all of us geeks have to have atleast one of them. For me it's gonna be the new xbox and possibly the new nintendo revolution if I like it.
What about you guys. What system are you looking forward to getting and what games?

They're all too damn expensive, but I figure in a couple years with a small loan I can get a PS3.

Grip72 09-23-2005 10:34 PM

any clues as to how much the ps3 and xbox360 are gonna cost?

my current xbox is focked

i want to get the tony hawk game for xbox360,

Don't know about the Xbox 360, but I've heard that the PS3 will debut somewhere north of $300.

dabouncerx24 09-24-2005 03:16 AM

400+ for the PS3, 300 for Xbox 360.

I'll probably get both, but the PS3 probably won't come out until mid-2006.

there's two diff. versions of the 360. One is 300 and the souped up one is 400

ChrisCantSkate 09-24-2005 08:53 AM

Mischief 09-24-2005 12:23 PM

I think my parents said they'd be mortgaging the house so they can afford to buy me a PS3

the soped up one contains a harddrive, whereas the 300 one contains no such hard drive. to buy the harddrive asside from the xbox will set you back 250, so it is a deal to buy the 400 dollar one

Its not really "different"...the 400 one just comes with a HD and other accessories liked the wireless controller, which you can just add to the $300 core (call it a base if you want...one that will fit a bunch of "bolt-ons") later on. But the thing is, buying the $400 package at launch is cheaper than buying the core and adding the same accessories later.

I think the best game at launch will the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, a must buy.

EDIT: I just read a few posts above, sorry dude for repeating the same things you said :P.

Kyle 09-24-2005 07:20 PM

I hope they have black 360's...I'm not really looking forward to the white ones. Does anyone know if they're gonna come in black?

dabouncerx24 09-25-2005 12:01 AM

White/silverish is the only color for the Xbox 360 (at least for now). If you don't like they have custom faceplates (like how faceplats on phones work). PS3 will have three colors, black silver and I forgot what the last one was.

AzCivic 09-25-2005 12:32 AM

just do what i did w/ my silver cable box, spray paint it.

Kyle 09-25-2005 01:54 AM

YEah, that's always an option

MissJDM 09-25-2005 09:29 PM

 'd never pay for those things. Man, I don't even use my PS2 for anything but as a DVD player. Oh, and I still play all the Mario stuff on N64.

My brother has always been good at bumming nice gifts from me, but $400+ for a PS3 calls for a big, fat, negative and a link to job search sites!
