honda uses SAE

Not an automotive genius mind you, but I think I get the basics of this concept.

For all those who don't know Honda made the switched the manner which they rate engine output. Example the 05 and 06 RSXS have the same engine output, yet the 05 is rated at 210 while the 06 using the new SAE method is rated at 201. Same output, just different methods of measurement.

I kinda like it, kinda brings those unrealisitic Honda hp numbers down from the stratosphere and pretty close to reality. I did hear someone mention that the redline on the RSXS has been dropped to 7600 from 8-8200. Can anyone out there verify if this is simply another side effect of the switch over to SAE or if they actually wimpified the car by reducing the redline to the lowest of any Integra in well over a *DECADE*??

im not sure about the rsxs redline, i'll keep my eye out though

sae measurement shouldn't affect the redline. i haven't heard about the redline being dropped, if the motor is the same which i'm not aware of it being different since they just made a change to the cam profile for the 05's, i don't see why they would drop the redline unless they have experienced issues with the stock valvetrain.
