time has come

as many of you know i will be moving to california coming in a month or two. and my mom bought a new car that she would like me to use for the drive there and living....sooo....Ill have to depart with the accord....sadly enough...
the new car is a 2000 Toyota Echo..now i know you all will laugh because it is an echo...but the thing that appeals to me about it compared to the accord. I don't have to worry about someone breaking into it (as likely). and because I am a student at Brooks people target students from that school in particular because they can get expensive equipment easily....
and another reason...it is stock..and runs at 36mpg and 41mpg on highway...
I'll miss the accord so much...;(

pdiggitydogg 08-01-2005 08:10 PM

sad....my civic gets 35mpg city

CD5Passion 08-01-2005 08:15 PM

the main main reason I am willing to give the car to my lil brother is that this echo has only 47,000 miles...the accord now has 141,900 miles

ebpda9 08-01-2005 08:29 PM

booo, echos are for gay tree huggers. wait, you meet one of the criteria ;) j/k but the accord is pimp

CD5Passion 08-01-2005 08:35 PM

i love my accord so much.....but I would feel much safer in a newer car

CD5Passion 08-01-2005 08:37 PM

Mischief 08-01-2005 08:52 PM

put a supra engine and drivetrain into it

yea that thing looks like a real peice of shit, I think honda makes a reliable car thats good on gas too, that doesent look as bad as an echo hmmm...

JDMFantasy2k 08-01-2005 09:48 PM

Aww that's sad. Darin you have the nicest accord i've seen, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Hopefully the next owner can take good care of her like you did.

mylittlecivic 08-01-2005 10:46 PM

dont do it;(

CD5Passion 08-01-2005 11:15 PM

its already done haha, no my brother will be taking the car now that I'll be leaving it here in florida.
i drove the car around tonight and it drives very nicely..oh an its a manual so haha.
theres a ton of room the only beef i have with it is that it has the guages in the center of the dash..that shit throws me all off

how in the world are you pulling that off??!

GT40FIED 08-02-2005 02:24 AM

I am bigger than an Echo. Seriously...this whore across the street from me used to drive one. I bet if I laid down next to that thing I'd be longer than it. I'm pretty sure that thing would fit into the trunk of my friend's '92 Crown Vic.

ChrisCantSkate 08-02-2005 04:53 AM

you should sell me the rims back

CD5Passion 08-02-2005 06:12 PM

if any of you all know anyone who wants my rims I'll go 500 plus shipping. so ask around

ebpda9 08-02-2005 08:27 PM

silver 08-02-2005 08:33 PM

no the echo does not have cruise control but whatever I'll deal

GT40FIED 08-02-2005 11:42 PM

Huh? It's 2005...every car should have cruise control.

Grip72 08-03-2005 12:30 AM

omg..that is probably the sadddest thing i've ever heard..wow...that seriously brings a tear to my eye..no person shall ever be forced to drive such a sad excuse for a car! ever

well the car is a 2000 model and they just didn't put them in it because it was made more for city driving..thus it being so small, and emissions concious

for it being so small it's actually holds its own in its subcompact class. a curb weight of 2020lbs it is quite peppy with the DOHC but limited obviously with its 1.5litre engine. steers very well, stiff suspension so it sticks to the road and super quiet. granted it doesn't look spectacular it's fun to drive like i previously stated and you don't feel like you're driving a tiny car when you're behind the wear because it sits higher than most subcompacts....all in all I actually kinda like

GT40FIED 08-03-2005 02:43 AM

1.5L, eh? So a 2 liter bottle of soda would give your car penis envy?:D

KwikR6 08-03-2005 02:59 AM

Well good luck man. You know what we all think of your accord over the echo....but things have to be done. Why do you think I sold my Del Sol. I needed to pay for school. And I did...it happens..Good luck though...

its just more sensible to have a newer better gas consuming car..plus its a low emissions vehicle so it'll be good for california emission laws and shit

^True...but hassle is hassle. I sure as hell wouldn't want to go through all of the trouble of international shipping if I didn't have to. Besides...there's a lot of shady fuckers trying to do business outside the U.S. Ask Stefan...he knows.
