non-k series motors and nissans' spec-v motor..

do they spin the same direction?

pdiggitydogg 07-31-2005 02:15 PM

counterclockwise?

VR4_Craver 07-31-2005 05:15 PM

Why does it matter? Are you writing some kind of paper or something on them?? Just a wierd question to ask isnt it??

AzCivic 07-31-2005 06:41 PM

just pondering the possibility of adapting the spec-v's 6speed to the H22, so first question would be do the engines spin the same direction?

is that the direction the older honda engines spin?

I believe so, though my brain hasnt been working too well this summer :D

Mischief 07-31-2005 07:38 PM

a nissan transmission and a honda engine? would that even work?

ChrisCantSkate 07-31-2005 07:51 PM

^not easily but with enough work im sure its possible.

i think that they spin differently though. im pretty sure nissian has always kept theirs spinning the sa,e way and io know the sr20 spins different than mine.

i'd look into the accord v6 6speed, or maybe some acrua type-s cl, tl, etc.i know theres some 6-speed tranny that spins the same way as a n22, jsut godda remeber it

if both engines spin the same direction it probably could, it'd would just take some kind of adapter between the tranny and engine like Bisi Ezerioha uses on his race car to bolt a dseries tranny to a Fseries engine.

6speeds and a factory LSD, it'd be nice.

damned, let me know if you find out for sure if they spin differently.

i don't know about mating a v6 tranny to a 4cylinder, that'd be even more difficult i'd think.

ChrisCantSkate 07-31-2005 08:20 PM

quaife makes one thats rediculously over priced (18k im told, i cant find it amywhere)

AzCivic 07-31-2005 10:29 PM

yeah i've heard about that, if i had that much money to blow on a transmission I'd buy a ferrari.

here's the link: http://www.quaifeamerica.com/transmi...trans_main.htm

ebpda9 07-31-2005 10:59 PM

well the

B-Series spin counterclockwise
C- Series i am not too sure
D-Series CCW
F-Series-CCW except the f20c, or f22c which are CW
J-series are Clockwise (they are thev6 used in accords, tl's rl's odisseys).

If the tranny is on the right of the car then the engine spins CCW, if the tranny is on the left then they spin out CW. It has to do with canceling the engine vibration thru the suspension i think.

AzCivic 08-01-2005 10:45 AM

crap i think the tranny is on the left side of the sentra.

silver 08-02-2005 07:21 PM

facing the vehicle the tranny sits on the right underneath the intake.

the motor will spin the opposite of a b series motor which I believe spins the same as the h.

forget about that tranny, it sucks...it's the same as the v6 tiburon.

<----former spec-v owner.

^ yea that would be neat except he uses the same make in engine and tranny and frame and engine bay(honda) where as you are trying to change all that. Why not look into the 6 sp from say the sentra se-r or something along those lines? I would think that that would be much easier and cheaper all around

Mischief 08-02-2005 11:19 PM

because se-r's don't have a six speed.. the spec v's came with a nismo tuned exhaust and the six speed transmission unlike the se-r's.

he's using an accord engine w/ a civic tranny in a crx, just because it was made by Honda doesn't make it that easy.

how would using a se-r tranny be any easier??? the se-r and spec-v are both sentra's. and like mischief said its not a 6speed also it doesnt have a lsd.

doesn't really matter since the stinkin engine's don't spin the same way. so there's no 4cyl engine that came w/ a 6speed and spun the same way as the b,d,and h series engines?

silver 08-03-2005 10:07 AM

honda has been spinning there motors backwards from everybody else in the world until recently, too bad. i have seen an sr20 put in a hatch though  you'll need a gti-r front clip for it.

and the spec-v didn't come with a nismo tuned exhaust, it was just a free flowing exhaust with dual tips on it. the nismo exhaust is a single tip oval canister.

No, I wasnt trying to say that because they are the same maker that it will be easy....I know that there is a difference in my engine bay than say a v6 accord. But being from the same manufacturer it WILL be easier simply because of similarities.

Your right. A spec v dont have the lsd but here shows a 6 spd on a spec v and here

therefore a nissan 4 cyl that does come with a 6 spd would monumenally easier in both work and money. Although, then you have to look at how and what it would take to ram it into another makers car.

AzCivic 08-05-2005 07:46 PM

It could be easier, maybe who knows.

huh? the spev-v has a 6speed and lsd which is why I brought it up in the first place.

VR4_Craver 08-06-2005 10:54 AM

It would be neat....I bet it would run like a scalded dog and be neat to brag aout that you did it. I would like to see it done:yes:
