Code
alright i used the CHECKING CEL pin up on here..thank god that was helpful!
it gave me code 61...(6 long flashes followed by one short one) it means: Oxygen Sensor, Heated - Sensor 1 (Primary) high voltage, low voltage, or slow response so is that saying that my oxygen is too hot? or what exactly does this mean? you think i should be fine to drive it (1800miles) or should I have this looked at AS SOON AS POSSIBLE?! thanks Kyle |
does the light come on every time you drive? or only once in a while, cause if its kinda random, it could have just gotten a bad reading once and inothing to be too worried about.
im not too sure about obd2 cars(yours) and how much the o2 sensors effect driving, but i know that i could get away with running on a bad o2 sensor on my car for a little while edit> this is car related, im moving it to the prelude section. |
well if the car gets that code it means that there is either a poor connection or a bad o2 sensor. without the o2 sensor the car will default to the maps in the ecu.
|
it probably fluked, just reset the ecu and i bet 5 bucks it goes away. samething happened to me and my shit box of an OD2 car.
|
it comes on all the time now
should i keep driving it or what should i do? i really don't know if i should risk driving it 1800miles with that code running p.s. how do u reset the ecu and will that cause any problems? ps.s.s (and nope, i can't find my manual book) |
im driving to go golfing on my bad o2 sensor, the CEL light comes on once in awhile then goes away. just get a new sensor.

dis connect the battery for 15 secs.
|
ben.. you got an obd2? i thought the switch was in 96.

Quote:
or pull the clock/radio fuse. |
i got the ECU to reset = the cel is no longer showing
but i don't want to fry/wreck something on this long trip! |
if it doesn't show then take it an auto parts store, more than likely they will do a free diagnostics check for you
|
1994 was the switch.
|
the switch was made in 96 for accord and civics. why would they be different for the ludes ?
|
i dont know. it was i was told.
|
well 1 o2 sensor=obd1 2=obd2.
