D series and B series turbos

will a turbo from a D16z6 fit onto a B16???

Leets 07-06-2005 11:10 AM

the turbo might... the manifold won't

Vtec_Civic_Racer 07-06-2005 11:11 AM

damn.. thats what i figured.

how much u think a new manifold would run for a B16

JDMFantasy2k 07-06-2005 11:26 AM

depends on the brand and style, and wether you're looking for something new or used. Also, just because the turbo from the D will essentially fit on any motor with the right manifold/flanges, doesn't mean that it will work efficitently on the B series.

What kind of turbo are you working with?

(ps. this should be in the turbo forum  )

Turbo doesnt determine the fit, its the manifold. The exhaust flange on SOHC block is different from a DOHC block. As JDMFantasy stated, what turbo are you working with? A turbo that is designed for a SOHC will work on a DOHC, but might be too small for the DOHC. You would need to consult compressor maps and whatnot to determine the right size turbo.

too much work.. lol

would be fun, but i assume just buy a B16 and boost it with a custom turbo kit.. lol

and there was no specific turbo.

the turbo i was leaning towards was a T3/04 or whatever.. cant really remember the exact name
