How many times have you watched a show like Cops and you hear people say something to the effect of "Are you a cop? If I ask you and you are you gotta tell me."? What the fuck is wrong with these people? The sad thing is, there are so many dumbasses walking around who believe this. Any cover a cop has would be effectively destroyed if it were as easy as asking them if they were cops. So...all hail retardation.

It's probably just another one of those urban legends that got passed around. They even have it up on Snopes.com

Its about as dumb as people going on shows like Dr Phil, Moury, or any others like that. Taking a lie detector test and filing miserably, then still denying the fact.

theres something with entrapment they arnt allowed to do, but i know its not that.

Entrapment is when you are conned into doing something you wouldn't normally do, or didn't intend on doing. Where as prostitutes, or drug dealers are there to sell something and they just get caught..

There are stipulations about entrapment... here's the easiest way to look at it...

If you are a CITIZEN and a cop asks "hey do you want to buy some drugs?" and you ask if he's a cop he says no then you buy them you'll get off for entrapment...

If you are a citizen and ask a cop if he wants drugs... then ask him if he's a cop he has NO obligation to tell you he is.

I'm pretty sure that's how it goes...

I tried to explain that to this kid in boston once... he was sitting outside of a head shop a friend of mine worked in and was asking everyone who came out "want nugs?"... then he'd be like "you're not a cop right?"

What a dumbass... I tried for like 10min. to explain to him he was going to get arrested. He thought that the cops had to tell him after he offered them drugs... lol.

ha that reminds me when me and my friends were at the beach and shootin' the shit with a cop.. my friend was like "it smells like weed" and the cop was like "Why you got some?" in the tone of voice like he wanted some.. we just kind of looked at each other and were like "uhh no"
