I KNEW it was crap
Remember how in the year or so leading up to the elections when our "terror alert" system was always going up with seemingly no explanation? Well...now you have an explanation:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washing...e-alerts_x.htm I also find it amusing that you rarely hear of the alerts anymore. Then again...I've stopped watching Fox News altogether. |
Nothing too much new there... what I did find funny was the last line;
"The color-coded system was controversial from the start. Polls showed the public found it confusing." How stupid are people... really? 5 colors, thats it. How the fuck is that confusing? |
Quote:
Haha. I thought that was fucked up, too. I think we should add another highest threat color...blackwatch plaid! |

Its a terror alert...banapepumber...thing...
I kinda thought that way about the color codes too... |
What seriously bothers me is that these things came so many and so often that people started ignoring them (I know I sure as hell did). It's like hearing a tornado siren when the storm is still 2 counties away. The first few times you might take cover thinking that you're really in danger. After that you just shrug it off like it's no big deal. Then the people who are effected ignore the sirens altogether when and if a they are really in danger. I'm willing to bet there will come a time when credible information is received, the "terror level" hightened, and everyone ignores it because nothing happened the last 25 times such things took place. After all...all we ever hear about is "unspecified threats" or "unconfirmed reports". If you're going to lie to the populous, have the decency to do it with some balls.
