Skyline VS civic
have you guys seen this video yet:

That's an R32 right?
What do you think is in that Civic thermal? |
I think it's an EF. Most likely a B swap built. It's loud as fuk, i'm guessing 3 inch exhaust or race-ready Y pipe.

I was thinking more along the lines of maybe a k20A and maybe some giggle juice...yes it is very loud. what sounds better than a built high revving motor? The whistle of a turbo or s/c in conjuction of the whine of a high built motor;) sadly...the whistle isnt present;( |
^could be... that's a better guess than mine...
|
In the first race, you can kinda hear the turbo. I don't think a built k20a would pull like that. Unless he forcing a 150-200 shot of n20 down the throat of the engine.
In which case i would love to see the engine throw a rod and it come through the firewall and blast him in the nuts. My vote goes for boosted to fuk with maybe a n2o shot. |

I beleive that turbo you are hearing is from the skyline jj.....A K20A would pull like that also if its built...You also have to remember that these are from a roll so the "advantage" is for the civic seeing as how the skyline doest really benefit from awd |
Why doesn't the Skyline pull over and simply eat the Civic? Haha! Either way, that's one badass Civic if it can pull on a Skyline like that.
|
i think that civic is turbo. Man does that car pull hard wow.
|
Agreed with VR4 on the civics advantage. I thought I heard n2o when he shifted from 2->3 but after that, I couldn't hear it again. I don't know what a built k20 sounds like [isn't that sad?] so I was thinking built lsvtec / b20vtec with a large turbo.
|
True... could be a built motor squeezing juice. The weight of that EF helps a lot too. That car is like a 55 gallon drum with wheels... weight wise.

Yea but if it was that big of a turbo you would undoubtedly hear a bov each shift. at 30 secs into the vidoe the camera jerks over as he shifts....You can make out a gauge in it but cant see what it reads...could be anything. But wouldnt it be somewhat stupid to make you look that far to see something you use every day?? (boost gauge, temp, etc. for boost?) But, I do love how he gives the skyline like a 1 car length lead and then still runs away from him   |
that looks like an 89 si dash and cluster, and is definatley a hatchback.
|
Well, we know for sure it's an EF.
Good point, why would his gauges be so far away? I still figured it was a big turbo..but then I question myself on why I can't hear the bov. No one else hears the n2o from 2nd to third? |
Quote:
I do hear that sound from 2-3 but The only time you hear a turbo sound is when they are side bt side and the skyline punches it then you hear it.....It would be a little ridiculous to have important gauges that far away |
i swear to god i heard a turbo noise when the civic punched it...the first time...a spooling noise..didnt hear a BOV though when he shifted...weird....meh thats one fast civic...was that skyline even trying or what...cause thats insane..  :paranoid:
|
He could be using a really quiet BOV but who knows
|
That skyline sure looks like a biAtch. :)
