weight?

does anyone know how much the AC weighs? the back seat weighs? im going to take them out. just curious to see how much weight i will be reducing.

plus weres a good place to get your car weighed?

ShEaNy 12-06-2004 10:23 AM

the back seats shouldnt be that much....60 pounds maybe? if that...mine werent that heavy(i didnt weigh them though..) im not to sure...ur AC doesnt weigh that much....it just frees up all the horses it uses to run...when u take it out..

IALuder 12-06-2004 12:31 PM

so gian more power to weight with it gone in away?

ChrisCantSkate 12-06-2004 12:59 PM

back seats MAYBE 10 lbs.

ShEaNy 12-06-2004 04:25 PM

10 pounds? .... either im stupidly weak...or the accord seating is heavier then the preludes lol...60 pounds is prolly wrong on my part though lol..:o

ChrisCantSkate 12-06-2004 08:48 PM

nah prelude rear seats are tiny.. just peices of foam over the body basically.

IALuder 12-07-2004 07:37 AM

really? is it even worth removing chris?

ShEaNy 12-07-2004 04:26 PM

do u just want it for weight reduction?..or are u building a enclosure back there...its not really worth it..unless ur going all power..and all less weight helps..

If you're removing the seats for weight savings to go faster, forget it. Its a little lame to remove seats in your non-race car for a .05 1/4 mile savings :D

Removing the A/C reduces the load on the engine and frees up a little power. Not worth the inconvenience IMO, but its better than removing the seats.

Try a local dump to get your car weighed.
