You'd be amazed to see who pays to have all sorts of stupid shit looked into. Tomorrow's science news flash will be "Scientists find that overeating causes obesity". It's time for a good old fashioned murder, if you ask me.

Steve, you are right... in fact, I posted a thread a while back where scientists linked food portions to obesity. Gonna see if I can dig it up. ;)

if evolution is so great and we were meant to run, why do we suck at it? there's very few things that we can out run.

Because the industrial revolution flipped the bitch on evolution...to quote NOFX. The problem is that over the centuries we've gotten machines to do our jobs for us while other animals continue to utilize their abilities. We just got lazy...but I suppose invention and tools are also part of evolution.

what about the olympic athletes who train day in and day out just to be the best at running? top speed any of them reach is like in the low to mid 20's mph and thats over a very short distance.

furthermore, I really dont think we're any slower than before we started using animals and machines to do our walking for us.
