Anyone know someone w/ PLEURISY?

I did a self-diagnosis today and came to the conclusion that I have it. Its not serious, but Ive never even heard of it before.

Im on the "take anti-inflammatories until I have insurance again" route. Which is until January.

Ive actually had this, from time-to-time, throughout my life but just decided today to look for it in my medical book.

Yeah...my doctor said something about the possibility of me having that. Didn't seem concerned enough to prescribe anything though. Then again, he's kind of a tool.

Its mostly just an inconvenience... Now and then I have the sharp pain in 1 spot on my chest. I take a deep breath, sit up straight, and its gone. I used to beat my chest (like a gorilla) but recently thought that may not be the best idea Ive had.

I figure, if I go in for it, they'll throw some antibiotics at me and say "Check back in 2weeks if the problem persists".

If I had a stethoscope, I could check more accurately

I'd never even heard of it!:paranoid:

What do you do to get rid of it? Anything?

Don't fret. It's more common than you think. I've had this for a long time now. It feels like an air bubble trapped between your lungs and your rib cage when you breathe a certain way, right? I've been seen for this too but no one seems to really know what it is. The true Pulirsey (?) you have to get really sick first, like pnuemonia (?) and mine comes and goes without rhyme or reason. I've been told to take ibufrofin (?) and it'll go away..........NOT! Time is the only thing that works for me. I just breathe a certain way that doesn't hurt until it passes. I even went to the ER once because it wouldn't go away for hours and even they couldn't do anything for it or knew what it was. It's just something you live with I guess. If you figure this out, let me know too.

Yeah, Im not really concerned about it.
It feels more like a knife on the inside of my chest, between the ribs, than an air bubble.

Ive started taking ibrprofin yesterday for it, since its more frequent than ever right now. So far it kinda works....kinda
