Well my civic finally has it's new wheels on. I go in for an alignment on tuesday, and then i'll be done with it. The only problem is that the new wheels are considerably taller and i was wondering if anybody could tell me how much it will throw my speedo/odometer off by. I should have pics up in a day or two.
new wheels= 205/50/16
old wheels=185/65/14

You are probably looking at about 5-7mph difference. I had 15's on my nissan and went to 17's and it threw it off by 6mph.

so basically when my speed says i'm doing 60 i'm actually doing 58??

right at if it says 45 youre really going just under 44

Stick w/ 2mph over and youve got it pretty much down. Just remember that the lower the # the closer it is to being right. So 15mph is like 14.5.
(so watch it in school drives where theyre a stickler for tickets)

In other words, it's not enough to make a noticable difference. The only time you will every have to worry about it is when you get a truck, jeep or some type of SUV and lift it on 33 inch or larger tires.
