what do you guys think?

I have a chance to buy a 93 Si for $2500, its 100% stock. The only thing is it has 190,000 miles on it It has lots of new parts, tires, gas tank, alt. ect ect, and only a small amount of surface rust. What do you think, seems like a pretty good deal to me.

biker's back 06-29-2004 01:21 PM

thats ALOT of miles...

calicojack 06-29-2004 01:44 PM

yeah I know- I was going to do a swap, but it has to be my daily for a year or so

MAXed Out 06-29-2004 01:54 PM

I would do it bro. If its in good shape and it hasn't been fucked with it should last another 100k. so in the mean time u can do a swap.

calicojack 06-29-2004 02:01 PM

yeah thats what I was thinkng- and I cant find anything else for around that price

biker's back 06-29-2004 02:44 PM

the car is 11 years old and the cheapest car honda makes. I personally wouldnt do anything with it but drive it until it stops working. I wouldnt put a dime into it hell i wouldnt even change the oil

Any money put into that car is wasted... next to gas that is

pdiggitydogg 06-29-2004 04:51 PM

No its not the cheapest that would be the cx

Id look at underbody parts - ie suspension, frame and behind panels

if its all good...Id concider it
those were nice cars

GT40FIED 06-29-2004 06:08 PM

Eh...I don't think I'd take it. 190K miles is pretty high, even for a Honda. I wouldn't even trust it as a daily driver. Plus you know that rust will just get worse.

mine just rolled over to 200,000 today on the testdrive back from the shop, and i am going to miss this car, my parents are giving me a 96 blazer that they acquired from a police/bank auction, i just have to return this car to stock as much as possible so know the fun begins!

but between the blazer (kbb 9962, and the civic kbb is 232), i will have enough for a lancer that i test drove and drove around for two weeks, 5 spd, and is the oz racing edition, so i cant wait!)

AkimboStylee 06-29-2004 06:30 PM

i just realized that i am going on my 12th car in 3 years

totaled 3 (srt-4, 88 civic, and 72 dodge pickup all three were not my fault)
sold 7 (2 1994 accords, 1 1996 accord, and for i never drove, just bought for parts (89 civics))
and
ran 2 into the ground (929, and my civic)

pdiggitydogg 06-29-2004 06:45 PM

I really do not like the lancer...its.........crappy I guess is a good word. It just seems like when you push it....youre pushing too hard.

calicojack 06-29-2004 07:49 PM

yeah I wasnt inpressed with the Lancer, felt cheap- Thanks guy gave me some to think about

how did u total the SRt-4? I thought u were getting it in August. Post some pics.

I'd get it if underbody and suspension is still decent. The reason being is that D-series motors are so cheap around here. I can get any Honda block (D or B) for $49.99 at my local boneyard.

I just got back from there a few hours ago and pulled off a full B18A swap which inlcude: block, head, IM with TB, alternator, distributor, fuel rail/injectors, A/C, and PS. All that shit come up $152 flat. We left the tranny alone since it was Auto. It was a 92 Teg completely stock with 111,xxx miles on it!

There were a few D15b there as well. It would've cost the same.

mylittlecivic 06-30-2004 05:25 AM

eh i know someone with a lancer:paranoid:

AkimboStylee 07-07-2004 12:33 AM

i was going to get a 2005 in august, but the dealer had a used 2004 with some extras, so i bought that one. two weeks later i was going through a green light and a lady ran a red and t-boned me, the car was totaled, and i was alright, and i just moved up to orlando and misplaced my camera, so i never took pics of the car, but i dont want to look at that car cause i could have lost my life if i didnt where a seatbelt
