I hate girl racer posers

First off lets get this straight. I LOVE girl racers. Girls who actually know what they're doing/talking about, how to drive and what a cam gear is. I hate girl racer posers, espically little preppy girls who get their daddys to buy them a civic and put fuckin ugly ass euro lights in it , and think they're racers. I got this one friend who is exactly like that. She's got more money than brains.(she is blonde, no offense to anyone) She went out and bought a 01 Civic LX non vtec. She just gave some friends of mine 5g's to "hook up her car." The funny thing is they totaly ripped her off. LOL. Now, her car looks good but it's still slow. She thinks it took all of 5 grand to put an OEM cf hood, no name coilovers, and a Greddy exhaust. She said. "Um, I got $1,000 coilovers, um I can't remember what brand they are, but their good ones." I was about to tell her she got ripped off, but she started talking like she actually knew what she was talking about. Talking about getting a turbo and how it would make her car have 200 hp on the stock engine. Then I got in my car and left. That being said I do have a few friends that are girls who have some decient cars that they did their selves. They're cool.

Sorry about the long story, I had to get it off my chest. :stickman:

As much as posers suck (I might not know much but i dont walk around saying I know everytihng and i definately dont have my parents giving me buttloads of money to do stuff to my car and I dont go putting nos vinyls on for whatever reason) thats pretty low to do that to some chick. I say that but I probably would have made her car a complete ricer that would just get laughed at so ya...

IALuder 06-05-2004 02:49 AM

i feel sorry for the car.

Seriously...it's wrong for her to throw money at a car and think it'll be fast, even if she's a total moron. But it's even more wrong to rip her off and install cheap parts just because you think you can (I use the word "you" in a general term). I'm not one for people who know shit about racing talking their cars up, but I'm even more against people who rip other people off. This is how legitimate mechanics get a bad name. I don't care how ridiculously retarded she is, if she gave those guys $5K, she deserves $5K in mods. Fuck the guys for ripping her off even though she is a poser.

it just goes to show you that if you want to get involved in a hobby or whatever that you have to do your homework if you really want to be involved that badly. Hence if she learned things and what things cost, and then give them money to do it then she would have an idea of the quality of the products and if she got ripped off or not.

AzCivic 06-05-2004 12:43 PM

if she has so much money why would she buy a 01 civic LX?

ChrisCantSkate 06-05-2004 01:21 PM

it sounds like she really wanted to learn about cars, but they took advantage of the fact she was trusting someone to do 5k of work on her car. poser? maybe... your friends douche bags... yes

Yeah no kidding! Everyone has to start learning somewhere. So she had some money and trusted some people to mod her car with it. They then turned around and literally stole the extra money and put crappy parts on the car?

You say that she is your friend, but you didn't let her know what happened? That's low...

CD5Passion 06-05-2004 01:32 PM

if a girl came to me and gave me 5k and asked me to do shit to her car, hell I'd sit down with her and discuss what can be done and what she wanted done. Then suggest the best quality stuff. That's just low for those guys and I hope they go to hell after a firey car wreck for takign advantage of her. people start somewhere, i remember knowing nothing at all about cars exc ept that they have 4 wheels and drive me from a to b. do me a favor and go kick those prick friends of yours in the balls

ChrisCantSkate 06-05-2004 07:19 PM

well.. think if your the dad. are you gonna buy your daughter a 16k car or a 30k car for her first, one that statisticlly is probobly going to be wrecked or damaged at some point. my friend got a civic for his first car, then a s2k once he "learned" to drive.

AzCivic 06-05-2004 07:21 PM

did her dad also give her 5 GRAND to blow on mods?

Daviso27 06-05-2004 07:22 PM

i would have told her they ripped her off, let her cry on my shoulder, then I would have waaxed her ass like nobody has ever waxed her ass before...

CD5Passion 06-05-2004 07:23 PM

Word to Arnel...it's rare enough to find women who are even interested in cars...much less ones who know what they're talking about. Take what you can get dude.

IALuder 06-06-2004 01:11 PM

wow the whole topic just changed. LMAO :D:D

CD5Passion 06-06-2004 02:06 PM

my ex was just as into cars as I am, that was one cool thing

Honda_Killa 06-07-2004 06:30 PM

My girl's into cars. She's got a 95 GST with some nice black 17 Motegi's. She's got some green neons though. I don't care for them that much:no:

actually, labor charges should be included if these guys did the work on her ride. not the same rate that a shop might charge, but they should have received a profit from doing the work.

however, she should have been cautious enough to be there when the parts were being installed, and in return, the guys doing the work should have been honest with her.

but either way, there are a lot of suckers out there... and that includes guys too. people these days see one of the fast and the furious movies and get their heads filled with completely false information.

wal 06-08-2004 03:07 AM

i would have told her to go back to the ppl who did her car demand to see recicts (damm ma spelling) and then took it from there , 5 k could have got a nice transplant and nice turbo

CivicRacingGirl7 06-08-2004 10:59 AM

although, if she doesn't know much about cars (which was made apparent by this incident), then going turbo just isn't for her

biker's back 06-08-2004 12:24 PM

90% of girls make the 10% look bad... same goes for guys

As for girls and cars, girls arent naturally into mech related things so its a strech... deal with it.

GT40FIED 06-08-2004 12:56 PM

I dunno...I still say it's wrong. Everyone's gotta start somewhere. What if she had worked really hard to save that money and got ripped off? I can only imagine if I'd had $5K for my first mods...I skipped lunch for months at a time to afford my first mods. But that doesn't make it ok for a bunch of douche bags to rip her off. And if any of her friends really wanted to help her learn, they'd TELL her she got ripped off and how.

BlackWolf 06-08-2004 02:48 PM

Uh, yeah it was wrong of them to do that but worse for you because for one, she trusted you, they were friends of yours, and two because you didn't tell her once you found out. What kind of a friend is that?? Just because you don't like someone who is a poser, doesn't give you the right to treat her that way. What about the learning curve?? Was she really interested in learning or was she worried about breaking a nail just by pumping the gas??

Obviously I had to come up in the ranks myself and just by the mere fact of being a girl made the journey more difficult than most. To be considered stupid because of your gender is one of the most aggravating things you can imagine. I was always interested in cars and even played with matchbox cars instead of dolls when I was little. My ex was a Toyota mechanic and I was able to learn alot from him and his friends. They thought it was cool to have a girl work on the cars too. More often than not, I was the one to reach into the smaller places for bolts when their hands couldn't fit. I don't consider myself to know everything but I know enough to know what I'm talking about and to ask questions about things that I don't. I also know when to let someone else who does know work on it. Especially now with all the computers running everything. I know how to work on almost all non computer, carburator only cars/trucks and 4x's. I was just learning about motorcycles when we broke up but that's neither here nor there. I honestly enjoy working on cars, even though I'm a woman. Why is that such an issue with men in general??

Honda_Killa 06-08-2004 05:43 PM

She didn't trust me. They're closer to her than they are to me. She doesn't want to learn about cars, just wants her car to look good. So she can get attention.

So let her... man its so not an issue dude.

CD5Passion 06-09-2004 03:37 PM

I've had plenty of girls come to me for advice on car related issues back in highschool and i knew that 90% of them didn't know a thing and didn't want to know anything about the mechanics of cars. But even so I would point them in the right direction tell them what they need and where to get it. I even warned many of them to be careful cause some guys will try to screw you over on pricing just because you're a girl. You don't fuck around with someone elses money, hell I know that if some ass tried to scam me (and one guy tried once) I will make it known to them and everyone.
that goes along with dealerships they try to charge you out the ass for repairs that I could do myself for 1/4 of the cost.

wow, wanna get married;) i also totally agree with you.

Kool-Aid 06-09-2004 11:38 PM

Maybe the guys she confided her money in didn't know what they were doing...I should certainly hope that friends wouldn't rip off friends...
I don't think I am a girl racer poser...I know what I want and how to get there...tis all...I also know that you learn something new ever day and since i've been on this forum...I've learned something new everytime I signed on...thanks, you guys!!!:)

Shaved &/or Laid 06-10-2004 01:49 AM

YES WE MUST STAND UP AND FIGHT THE OPPRESSIVE GIRLS-THAT-WANT-ATTENTION CLAN OMG WTF BBQ !!!!1!!1!

uhm, hate to break it to you, but most girls = attention whores. dont be surprised

BlackWolf 06-10-2004 08:05 AM

Yes, I'll agree that most girls do like attention from the guys with their cars all done up but the reason why us REAL girl racers do up ours cars is for the sheer enjoyment out of it and for the respect of others doing the same type of things to their cars, not just from the guys. Please don't lump us in your opinion too.
