Speed.

I have an issue with speed. On the bike i notice I'm always going 75+, most of the time it's 95+, and often i catch myself doing 115+. I've hit 100+ in 35 zones, sometimes it happens daily.

It's something psycological, i see open road and want to go quicker. I can handle those speeds so why can't i go them?

CD5Passion 05-09-2004 03:48 PM

cause you might kill yourself cause of other drivers pulling out infront of you, we dont want none of that:cool:

ebpda9 05-09-2004 04:52 PM

because you hadle them that doesn't mean the others can, fuck look at peeps that can't handle the speed limits now.

V8killimports 05-09-2004 05:51 PM

You may think you can handle them.. but you can't. They don't let nascar drivers get away without getting a ticket.. why would they you?

mylittlecivic 05-09-2004 06:24 PM

you have the freedom to choose whether to speed or not, but you dont have the right to speed:o

I feel that same way Shaggin... and often find my self doing the exact same thing as u are, but im in a car :)

IALuder 05-09-2004 10:33 PM

im always 15 over no more or less.

94_AcCoRd_EX 05-09-2004 11:34 PM

You can't go those speeds because you the hit and kill other people on the road. If I pull out on a 35 mph road and you're doing 100+ and kill me... well you get the point (maybe  )

I'm not against speeding or anything, but 100 in a 35 is a little excessive.

ShagginJet 05-10-2004 12:01 AM

The area that i was talking about doing 100+ where it's 35, it's not a busy street and there are no side streets to pull out from. I know it's dangerous and i'm more likely to get hurt because of other's faults vs mine, but i just can't seem to help it.

It's my only means of anger release too, and that plays a big part. Sometimes for lunch i'll take my bike down to the beach and that makes the afternoon so much easier.

Fatal070 05-10-2004 09:38 AM

If you want to go fast goto the track.

V8killimports 05-10-2004 10:42 AM

Let's not be selfish.. you are not the only one on the road.. if you are driving 100 in a 35, and hit and kill my wife or family member, you better hope to god you die too.. understand?

pbateson 05-10-2004 10:43 AM

Too many troopers in WA State that I cannot go 100mph. -_-

Yeah, I know what you mean man. I'd feel so bad if i hurt someone else. I could really give a shit about myself though. That's what the helmet and leathers are for, hopefully i don't get ran over as i lay immoble in the street.

ShagginJet 05-11-2004 02:09 AM

So i'm flying home from a friends house, doing 90+ on the freeway, 5 wide, going from 3 lane to the 1 lane in one swift move and in the 4 lane about 50 yards up is a cop car. In a split second I downshifted and pumped the brake, slowed down about 3 car lengths shy of him. He didn't notice me at all, damn i got skillz sometimes.

I know I'm bad but it's my form of fun, i try to only do it when danger to others is at a minimal. A bike does a lot less damage to a car or person then another car or suv would do.

CD5Passion 05-11-2004 05:26 AM

not only other people but if you hit a rock/puddle/pothole/animal you didn't see you might as well be diggin your own grave bro:no: that easy

Reality check time. Your bike doing 100+ into my driver door could still kill me. I agree with you most of the time on this board, but you seem to have the "invincible teenager" state of mind right now.

Its your choice though, so stay safe out there.
