disorderly conduct?

*sigh* don't flame, i was in a bad mood and told off a cop, literally, he almost took me to jail, stupid move - i know, but he gave me a ticket for disorderly conduct.... any info on this charge? i have court june 8th =\

Damn i think its just about the same thing as drunk in public.

Get a laywer/goto court and it'll be dropped. Its really hard to make the ticket stick. Better look respectable though...

it's a misdemeaner (sp)...

yea what did you say? that what will determine the case. plus you need to look smart. suit or tux. make it look like you got some money.

well we drove by and i yelled out "you bastard" at the top of my lungs... *shrug* it was while i was driving, so im hoping if i go to court i can say i was talking to my friends in the other car

Why did you yell at him in the first place...? You must've been in a really bad mood to randomly yell at cops...

eh, about four of them broke up our car meet and i was just letting out steam...

if you werent doing anything wrong, and you were in an area that didnt have notices about solicitation, then you have the right to gather peaceably and he was infringing on your constitional rights.......sorta

so what are you saying? i plan on taking my friend with me to court, to help me out, im going tjust say i was shouting it at my friend because he was playing with the radio or something, i mean its not like i walked up to the cop, or like was in a crowded area

even if you get a lawyer AND you did have friends in the area, AND the fact that you may have been yelling at them, it isnt legal to shout obscenities in public (and unless you meant ''bastard'' as he has no father, then that counts as one). Last I heard it was punishable by a $500 fine or 90days in jail (same as littering and smoking in an elevator).
You may have trouble with it...but Id go for the lawyer+court route any day of the week over tickets. You dont HAVE to get a sentence and it will probably get tossed out.

But my other point was that legally, if you werent causing any problems (that includes being too loud) then the cop had no right to bust up your crew.

say you herd it on TV and thought it was cool. blame it on society and get them sidetracked to get the FCC to crack down on... oh fuck it. dress nice, talk very respectable to the judge, dont bring a friend thats gonna act "hard" in court(we all have em) because he will get you fucked. main thing give the impression that you'd never even think about mouthing off to authroity.

im not going to act like a dumbass at court, i doubt there is a sentence for it, bc he said he could have taken me to jail then; i think its going to be a hella fine, but im just going to say i was talking to my friends while driving, and i had to shout cause we were driving...

well my friend was peeing in the snow when a cop came over and was gonna give him a ticket. so he acted like he was a little slow and didnt know what he was doing so the cop just told him to go home and not do it again:o
