Performance/HP Gain
 

Ok i have an automatic Acura EL (D16Y8 SOHC 1.6 Vtec) and i'm having the head ported/polished, but what concerns me is the exhaust... I'm doing a Full system with a header highflow Cat and 2 1/2" Pipe and i was wondering if anyone would be able to give me an idea of what kind of difference i'm gonna get with this new Exhaust... HP numbers would be great to know but i just want to have an idea of what to expect...I don't want to throw this money away and then get the car and be like.... Screw this i am selling it, I want to notice the difference (i know the Super charger is the next step for HP gain).

If anyone could help me out here by giving me an idea of the improvements this exhaust will make on my car i would be very greatful!

Your probably not going to want to hear this, but the gains your going to get aren't going to be HUGE, they are going to be small. It not like it's going to throw you back into your seat or anything.
You'll get a little gain, like maybe a few HP to the wheels, but nothing big.

The acuras only have the d16? I thought they had like a 3 something litre:confused:

Most Acura's do.
The 1.6EL however has a well......1.6....;)

well looks like i'mma hafta get a supercharger....;( its not fair!!!

i wouldnt waste money on a port/polish, especially on an automatic car.

id only do port and polish if u was doin internals and all that lovely stuff. u will notice some difference in power but like Black Del Sol said nothin major

Doesnt your car feel a little underpowered? Or i am i thinking of like a full sized car and yours is like a 2 door coupe?

1.6 EL's are 4 door.
