And in general what do you guys thinks of these products and which ones would you go for as a small setup. I'm not looking for anything too out of this world...just to touch up my current lacking sound. I just bought some nice infinity speakers for my room and noticed what I was missing. ANyways I have a 94 mazda 626 cronos lx. Stock speakers are decent but nothing fancy. thanks :) |
well. i am not a fan of rockford so i really aint goin to say much about those. the Pioneer 3 way's i would recommend. i have those in my teg and there very nice and clear. Now the pioneer subs i dont like the new ones they came out with. IF u found the older style IMPP black and gold ones then id choose those. i was running 3 of those last year and hit really good numbers with them.

My personal preferences are Phoenix Gold for amps, MB Quart for speakers, and the new JL Audio 12W7 for the sub. Simply rockin. Get a Phoenix Gold EQ too, while you're at it.

Ok....hitting hard DOES NOT MEAN it sounds good!!!!! Keep that in mind. Lots of folks, mistakenly, think that the more bass a system can take or the harder it pumps the better it sounds. This is, purely, not true at all. Of course sound is what you make of it, but to achieve pure sound quality you need lots more than pumping bass or XXX rms watts going through the system.
First and foremost go with something that sounds good to you. Just keep in mind that audio was in no way mastered to be heard on the car stereo, but rather either through stereo studio monitors or a set of roughly 5.1 monopolar studio monitors properly configured, something your car stereo system will probably never match. But you can still choose components that sound good and will give you a good sound, regardless of how much "thump" or "bumpaliciousness" is there. ;) Happy listening.....if this has/hasn't been helpful, I'm happy/sorry, respectively. b |
